PostSubject: Project RZR Crawler   Project RZR Crawler EmptyTue Aug 30, 2011 6:24 pm

I really enjoy rock crawling more any any type of riding. (It's all Mason's fault BTW)
There's such a sense of accomplishment when you succeed in going somewhere most think is not possible. Anyway, I've decided to make the RZR into the ultimate RZR rock crawler. The current suspension has been a good start. Now it's time for some more upgrades starting with the cage. I've ordered some 1.75/1.0/1.5 .095 DOM tubing that should be here next week. Right now the plan is to modify the stock cage (not point in re-inventing the wheel). Plan on chopping the top ~5" and adding some bars. Front hood bars, rear S style bars, dash bar, rear hoop X bars, side door bars, custom rock sliders, chassis & suspension gusseting, etc...

Please give me your suggestions, ideas, etc as what you think should be incorporated into this build.

Ah yes, I really like those rocks sliders. I ripped one of my polaris sliders off this past weekend. I think I can come up with something similiar.

Here are some pics of a well done cage similiar to what I had in mind.

I am stealing a few few ideas from this RZR and making a few changes.

I like these rock sliders that connect to the side of the cage for strength

Here is the way we did the rear cage. The cross bar and the angled down bars are heavier steel than stock.
