Walked out the door today.....

After 2-1/2 straight years of going to college I walked out the door today for the last time.............It has not really sank-in yet that I'm done. Decent accomplishment for an old-guy like me. Now I've got to get a real job?????

Congrats. Not sure what you got educated in, but Engineering, construction vendors sales and manufacturing along with construction is in high demand (short on people) around here. I met a guy from the Ford big truck plant last week and I think he told me they are hiring for 2,000 positions. Not sure if he inflated it, but Marty should be able to chime in.

You know what Jim????? That is a very kick ass accomplishment for a guy your age! It is not easy changing direction in life after we are set in our ways. Man I am damn proud of you........

I graduated with a 2-year Industrial Systems Technology Degree. Certs in PLCs, Motor-Controls, Industrial Wiring, Fluid-Power, Industrial Mechanics, A/C-D/C Circuits, Industrial Instrumentation, And the usual Pre-Requisites,  English, Comp 1202, 2-maths, Human relations. Most all of it was pretty easy for me except the math and PLCs...Or ladder-logic as it's called.. here's a very basic example with timers ,counters and resets.. You start out with the horizontal lines (rungs) and they are blank!!! You have to do the rest!!!!

All the rest i can understand , your pretty good with mechanics
But how the hell did you pass Human relations........

One of our projects in plc's was we had to write the programs from scratch to control stop lights at an intersection, then of course we had to add in the pedestrian lights also. It was pretty hard to say the least, but a fun project.

that's a great accomplishment pate. think I will try it soon.... just had my 35 yr awards at work

I did the traffic-lights too..............A lot of crashes happened!!!!!!
