I have both skid and nerfs... and they work great... well worth the cost.

I did loose the tail peice on the skid, and Andre replaced it. I then welded it, along the front edge, to the next one and haven't had any more problems...

Do the nerfs keep you from hitting your flares or do they bend in?

I guess that depend on how hard you are rubbing. They do not extend back past the flare, so a smaller tree will get to the flare. But they help.

I got a wider set of flares now so they are more exposed than the standard S flares. I don't think there is anything one can do to fully protect the flares.

I have the EMP full aluminum skids. Well made, 3/16" thick and do the job well and I've tested them throughly Laughing EMP is a site site sponsor and they have a great price for members.

I have the Polaris rock sliders and they protect the sides & edge but not the best design. I am in the process of building mine own version.
