PostSubject: Help Please, Rhino 700i, clutch/speed issue   Help Please, Rhino 700i, clutch/speed issue EmptyThu Jun 30, 2011 7:58 am

Hi, Im posting this for a friend, he's got a Rhino 700i, and there seems to be an issue with the clutch. So far, 2 mechanics, and the local utv place have been able to do nothing with the situation. From what i understand, the thing wont go fast at all. They've done all sorts of stuff, but i dont know what. You can see the video below for more info, please email Roy with anything you have, as Im a girl, and probably wont understand anything mechanical LOL im more of a Digital tech ^_^

Stock my Rhino would hit 42. With the Unleashed Sheave and spring I was pushing 48-50 depending on the road. Rhino without some work is definitely not a speed machine.

Stock I could do 42.....

With my Dynatek CDI, the OD weights, and a bored TB. I could do 57.

With my Cam, piston, valves, porting/polishing, injector, muzzys, air filter, MSD, OD weights, and a few other small mods, 54mm TB I can do 68.

If you have not done anything yet you can look into a hunterworks greaseless set up. Factory I would hit 40 and bounce off the rev limiter. With the machined sheave, spacer, greaseless weights, cam plate sliders and secondary spring I have hit 52 mph before i run out of room and thats with my cage, 26's and me an a buddy. It was a little over $300 for the kit.

What will the secondary spring do for me? I went greaseless, overdrive sliders, and hunterworks CDI and get about 51mph. I have stock tires but soon be on 27 or 28s.

The secondary spring is what gives you lowend . Get on some other forums where guys are running big lifted bikes with heavy tires and just do some reading. There are straight mud setups there will give you no topend but you will have bottomend for days. I am very Happy with my orange EPI secondary. I am running 26 XTR's right now which are heavier than 27" Mudlite or Zilla. I want to setup to 27" Mudlite or Zilla myself. I have them on Craigslist for trade as we speak. You never know when someone is wanting to downsize.

The EPI spring helped me a little, but not even in the same world as the JBS Hot Rod Rhino Sheave...... That was probably the best money I spent on the Rhino, it gave me so much low end it's not funny.

I believe every Rhino owner should have one, thats how much it helps.

I have the complete Hunterworks Greaseless setup with Machined Sheave, 2 mm spacer, greaseless sliders, 16g weights and orange secondary. Iv hit 52 MPH and still not on the limiter with me and my buddy before I ran out of room. It by far is the best money I have spent on my Rhino. I am sure JBS is just as good, but I love the Hunterworks setup I am running.

Not to mention I gained lots of bottom end which is what I was looking for due to my Rhino being a school bus 99.9% of the time.

The Hot Rod is a better sheave, there has been lots of testing done between the two.
