That looks like at least a 4800 feed. anything above 480 at the mill I work at requires a full body suit. I have seen feeds short and blow the locked doors open on disconnects, ugly stuff

I think it was right at 48. He should not have had the door open. It probably would have blown the lock off but may have minimized his exposure some.

I was told by my instructor (supposed to be connected) that he later did. He was not "vaporized" like a lot of the vid commentators said. We watched several more vids that were way more graphic than this one....I do not want to specialize in A/C anymore....

Yeah, I am in electronics, and we only go up to 120v, anything between that and 480v maintenance does it, and anything above 480v, we have our own power section that handles it. Pretty scary stuff when you get into the big voltages.

You should try wearing an arc flash suit when it's 100+ degrees on a contruction site I feel bad for my field guys sometimes while I sit in my air conditioned office......nah not really

I have opened and closed, and reset circuits on 100's of these over the years, and never gave it too much concern (although I have always stood to the side with face away like I was always told to.) Today i am no longer allowed to do it. Electrician only in flash suit.

I have been on a couple of calls where linemen have come in contact with high voltage. Was not a good outcome. Learned what it can do to the body.
