S to an XP?

Ok you guys who have swapped over to an XP from an S what are your thoughts? I really like my S and it does good in the rocks (i ride mostly rocks)and sometimes better than the xp but i would like the extra power i just cant decide whether or not to keep my S Or go with the xp. I feel like if i got rid of my S i might miss it.

XP but get the high clearance trailing arms, radius rods and have Smooth Ride take care of your suspension

Who has the best deal on the high clearance trailing arms? How much is it to get smoothride to work on the shocks? Does the xp stock ride better than an S stock?

Im trying to get my wife on board with the idea she really likes our S.

I am sure there will be many opinions on this question. Take it from me. You will not miss the S. I doubt you will find many guys here that would go back to the S. However, Baditude is right. You will need the high clearance Trailing arms and Radius rods. I would not have bought an XP if it were not for the those after market parts. I love to rock crawl and climb hills and the stock arms/rods are not for our type of riding.

The trailing arms are about $850 to $900 and a grand for smooth ride to overhaul the shocks. I would buy the high clearance arms/rods first then save up and do the shocks. That should be your first two mods. The combination of the two make the XP the baddest machine on the market.

Also, with a smoothride shock system you will not need a lift kit. I have between 15 and 16 inches of ground clearance and a very smooth ride.

Yeah i can deffinitely see the difference. Driver had a lot to do with that one. What do you think as far as reliability with the xp? Also can you run the aftermarket trailing arms with the stock radius rods? Would you get the radius or the trailing arms first?

The driver in the S is a very capable driver. There are tons of videos that day where the S's were having a hard time getting over the first rock.

I think you are better off getting the trailing arm/radius rod kit. If you can't do both then buy the rods first. You will bend the stockers on your first ride.

JUST FYI Highlifter has a sale on both radius and trailing arms going on right now...... you know its bad when the the parts manager for highlifter sends you daily updates and included in them is you got that new xp yet....... if I EVER GOT A 900 I would go with highlifter. I do not own a High Lifter kit. I have never bought anything from them. I have no idea how well they are built. It could be the best product on the market. I am not knocking them at all. This is just an observation. It just looks like the Z Broz would take more of a beating.....

The highlifter arms should give you more clearance since they have a single tube into two, But I'd think the Z broz arms would be stronger with the two tubes and them being boxed in.. Who knows could be overkill.
I ended up getting Z broz setup. I was leaning their way, But after finding out the highlifter swing arms will only go on a XP4 if you also add their lift in the rear it made it easy. Something to do with the 2.5" shock in the Rear.. The standard XP only has 2" body shocks in the rear so it doesn't have an issue.

I had trouble the next day doing the Mason Jar beat my brand new PA trailing arm guards. Already had the Highlifter upper & lower radius rods.

Talked to everyone around the campfire that night went with Zbros trailing arms and Custom Suspension shocks / springs - what a difference.

Thats the only reason I don't like the trailing a arms on sxs and prefer the dual A-arm configuration more. it seems they just get hung up more when tackling rocks and such
