PostSubject: Looking to be SxS Member. Also advise for buying UTV   Looking to be SxS Member. Also advise for buying UTV EmptyMon Mar 04, 2013 1:53 pm

I have road ATVs since I was a kid. I grew up in oregon and the military has moved me the north carolina. I will be retiring from the military later in this year and I am going to purchase a UTV in the next month or two. I am doing some shopping right now and looking for good people to ride with. would like advise on what to get as a UTV. I looked at polaris today. I checked out xp 900 and the rzr 800 and rzr S. What do most people in your goup ride. I like the xp but wondering if its to wide for some of the trails you guys ride or would I be okey with something like that? Is the a better brand that is more reliable. I have been reading mixed reviews on the polaris but they do look the most fun. The seats are more comfortable for me since I am 6'1''.

Since I will be retiring from the Army I will have time to ride and dont mind traveling to another state for a week or a weekend to do some good riding. Just looking for quality people to ride with and have fun. Also advise on where to ride and what type of machine is best. hope to hear from you guys soon. Looking forward to becoming a member also.

Currently ride a trx500fm honda foreman.

Thanks Albert dyk.

welcome2 to the site, you have a ton of choices out there, just determine what features are important to you and go from there. Good Luck with your choice. Now, go orange so you can see the group rides info. Look forward to riding with you.

Welcome to the site. Hope you become an ORANGE member (club member), that way you can see all of the ride information, not just the site information. We have a big ride next week. Should have another ride in a month. RZRS is what most of us have, or have had. Lots of folks have been upgrading to the XP. It will fit on almost all of the trails we ride. The RZRS is a great machine with just the right HP for what most of us ride.

Welcome to the site and thank you for your service to this great country. As for picking a new ride, I suggest you shop around and take a look (and ride) at all the different options. Most of us ride Polaris RZRs, but there are lots of different options, and it varies based on ones needs. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. Good luck in your search.

welcome To the site. Go orange, To get the full benefit of the forum. I myself ride a RZR S it's our first sxs. So it's the right power for a begginer. But as stated already look around test drive. Ask questions. They all have there issues and weaknesses. Just need to find one you like and is comfortable for you. We ride alot of different areas and even the XP and wildcat fit.

welcome I'm new to the site also. For my first sxs I got a teryx4 so i could haul all my kids around + the wiffy. I am 6'1" and I have no problem with room. my cousins are 6'5" and up and they fit pretty comfy also.
The eps is worth it's weight in gold. effortless steering which is nice on those long rides.

Welcome to the site and thank you for your service.

I have owned a 50" rzr, Rzr S and now a XP. If I was in the market right now I would look at a XP or the new Wildcat X. They are not too wide for the trails and there is a way around. Besides there will probably always be a buggy 64" wide you ride with so go for the power!
