| Don't know what the rest of you guys think about these single digit and sub zero temps, but i think they suck! Its been a while since we have had temps this cold but the coldest I ever remember it here in East Tn was -24F. Don't ever want to see that again-but didnt stop me from riding my little 125 Suzuki ALT three wheeler---the coldest riding I have done. I just can't handle the cold anymore. | |

| I was behind 2 vehicles that blew from not enough antifreeze in them today. I saw where about 15 or so more had blown on the roadways too, while driving around. | |

| We aren't use to this crap in AL.. I took a picture of my dash today cause the temp was lower then my MPG it was 11 degrees. Which is crazy for around here.. Hell they canceled school because it was cold.. I thought that was a bit much, But it was explained to me that some of it was they weren't sure the systems could heat the buildings in these temps. I don't know about what the schools have, but I know most homes here, mine included just have heat pumps with electric heat strips for back up. Gets down much below freezing then heat pumps don't really work Heat strips are pretty much the same as running a big ass blow dryer to heat your house. Not really intended to be your main heat. I bet peoples power meters are spinning like crazy right now.. We are lucky enough to also have a gas fire place on its own thermostat so that makes a huge difference when we get crap like this. | |

| It has been -3 here overnight. Heat pump running its off, unvented gas logs in basement on 68 degrees and running, Lennox Brentwood combustion stove cooking as best it can, still had to use a Quartz Heater in the bedroom. | |

| -1 this morning for me. I got the old wood stove a "wolfin" in the basement. It's 75 in the house right now. Has anyone tried blowing bubbles in below 0 temps? They freeze and hit the ground! | |
