Cables to deflect brush? Empty
PostSubject: Cables to deflect brush?   Cables to deflect brush? EmptySun Feb 02, 2014 11:45 pm

Had a question, I watched a you tube video today that had a bunch of SxS in it with steel cables ran from the ends of their bumpers to the top of their cage. Now I've seen this on jeeps and trucks to keep limbs from hitting their windshield or atleast that's all I thought they did. Seems the idea is it deflects brush and limb up and over the cage vs them catching the A pillers  of the cage and slapping you in the face. Anyone tried this on a SxS? The more I think about it seems like it would work. Can't remember how many times I've reached out and pushed stuff up onto the roof course have the time its something with thorns Sad  Anyone think this would work?

here is the video

What happens when a big pine limb runs down the inside of that  geek  splat  lol! only place that would be ok is sand or mud, then why would you need them ?  but in the woods that could get you killed or your buggy torn all to hell.  thatsright

The concept of limb risers similar to ones used on dozers , forestry equipment work great and have been standard equipment for years . Not sure how sturdy the cables would be----tubing or pipe would be the s*** .

If I didn't have the limbs coming in and hitting MUDHOE in the head and hearing her bitch at me, then some of the fun would be gone. I guess I can just install it on my side.

I had some on one of my jeeps for a very short period of time. In concept they work well at slow speeds but found that they brought a lot more crap into the cab of the Jeep. More specifically they did a good job with bringing leaves and spiders in on the lady friend. Needless to say, they didn't stay on that Jeep for very long.
