PostSubject: Dirty Gorilla   Dirty Gorilla EmptyWed Apr 01, 2015 10:40 pm

I decided to get my tree bars done by him cause they looked the part and wanted something a little different. After ordering them on black Friday I got them the last weekend of march. I know that should have been a deal breaker in itself but I kept giving him chances. Well today I was painting one of them and I have one side on and went for a ride around the neighborhood. When the suspension compressed it rubbed the bar that goes back by the tire. I'd post pics but don't know how on the phone but just wanted to let others know this guy is a hack and I feel like I've been had. I have contacted him but have got no response back yet.

I don't know of Dirty Gorilla. But that is why this site is here. Ask question, any question and someone here has been through it.

I hate to hear you didn't get what you paid for..... Mad

He did get back with me this morning and offered to fix them. But that means I have to take them back off and drive to his "shop" so he can fix them on the spot. But my concern is that if he fixes them and then I drive all the way back home and put them on and then they don't fit again. I honestly think I was the first 900xp he built bars for. So I guess my options are give them back and get a refund or keep these and fix them myself. I'm not hauling my rzr to irvine to see if they fit. Thanks for letting me vent on here! I'm sure Shawn is tired of me complaining haha

I did end up getting my bars fixed by him Saturday morning. I believe they will.be the last things he will do for me though. Not worth the hassle any more. Cause now I habe to repaint them and then put them back on

I ordered a set of tree kickers from him and after waiting 5 weeks and getting too many "excuses", I gave up. I was just glad to get my money back.

Here's a pic of Jeff's bars before he fixed them Sat. As u can see the back bar that runs to the frame has no bend in it and way to close to the tire. Rubbed pretty bad. His excuse was his mockup buggy had offset wheels which tree bars woulda still rubbed.

That's funny… his excuse to me was the buggy he used to mock up the bars had a bent frame.

Yea a lot of excuses. When he went sat to have them fixed the 900 he used for mock up had factory wheels on it.

Yeah, I went the land of excuses...

It took a long time to get them done. When they were done (on a Wednesday) he said they were finished and but couldn't ship them because they were so large and it would be too expensive.

Since I'm paying for the shipping, why don't you let me be the judge of that?

I said I'd send Alan Cashin to pick them up but he wouldn't return Alan's phone calls (Alan had been waiting 4 months for a bumper he was suppose to make)

I called him and told him Stacy Wilhoit would pick it up. Stacy drove over to his house on a Saturday and his wife was there. She said Brandon wasn't there but was on the phone. Stacy talked to him only to have him say "oh, I have the tree kickers in the back of my truck". (yeah, I always drive around with tree kickers in the back of my truck... whatever.

He said he would drop them off at Stacy's house the next day (Sunday). Sunday morning I get a text telling me that he has a problem because the other set he made doesn't fit because the buggy he used had a frame bent.

Well, that doesn't make sense... if the other set was made for the buggy with a bent frame, then THAT set should fit THAT buggy. My set shouldn't fit mine... He said neither would fit.

I gave up at that point, after 5 weeks, I moved on.... (of course, now I've been waiting for this other company for 6 weeks)

Mark, you live very near to and probably know someone on a NASCAR team. Do you not have any contacts that can build you a set of bars?

Yes, but I thought I had someone dependable and reliable. Apparently not. They are literally a block away from me so I thought it wasn't going to be a problem.

Thanks and yes, I could but since I don't do it on a daily basis, it would take me 3 times as long and I'd waste twice as much materials....LOL.

That's half the fun right there. Plus you will end up with exactly what you want.
