| The new 850 v-twin motor will be in the new sportsman 850 xp atv this year, maybe next year it will be in the razr replacing the 760cc horizontial twin motor that came out in 05. | |

| I heard that the Polaris rep said the 850 will not be in the RZR until 2011 becuse it would have to have the whole chassis re worked to fit that bigger motor. | |

| That 850 will have 70 HP. It will be the HP king for 09. Can-Am 800 has about 67 and Arctic Cat 950 has about 66. | |

That 850 is not a V-twin as I had heard it reported also. If you look at it on Polaris web site it is an inline just like the 800.

| Yeah that is heavy, but not too bad. Polaris is a lot heavier than the others, but the suspension is nice. I like the Polaris, but still would not trade my King for a Sportsman. | |

That 850 is not a V-twin as I had heard it reported also. If you look at it on Polaris web site it is an inline just like the 800. In reading the new atv rider mag it says the 850 is a v-twin but the new 550 xp has the inline, wonder how they could make that big a mistake? I just looked at the 09 catalog and it states its a total different motor from the 800, says it is rotated 90 degrees, and has dual throtle bodys not sure if that means the cyls which would make it somewhat a v or if thats how its mounted in the frame.

| Quad magazine has it as a V-twin also. But it is not. It is the inline twin that is cocked sideways in the frame. Also the 550 is a single cylinder. | |

| Not so sure, polaris says its a total different motor than the 800, or at least thats how it reads in the 09 brochure, and the use the 90 degree referance, 90 degrees is what most v-twins are maybe thats how the mags called it wrong. | |
