A Wise County, Virginia man has been convicted of head-butting a police officer by a jury in Russell County.
Commonwealth's Attorney Brian Patton said Robert Allen Tackett, 48, was charged with assault and battery of a law enforcement officer, indecent exposure and drunk in public.
Russell County deputies were called to a home where Tackett was exposing himself. He was being taken to the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail for booking when he head-butted one of the officers inside the patrol car, Patton's report said.
A jury recommended a jail sentence of four years for Tackett following their verdict earlier this week. He will be sentenced on May 2
