The New Top and cage is Finally Done

Well , its finally all finished. as always , I spent way to much time
and money. this top dont look like it should be on a Rhino . it looks like something i would build for a 150.000 dollar race car... :D but i just could not buy one like i wanted. should of just bought one like Ronnie has an saved money. I just did not want the claps or the rain gutters. made the top with a press break in 32nd increments, took forever. it was to wide to fit in our press roller. alot of shapeing and fileing to make me happy. it is .095 T10 aircraft
aluminum balistic expensive, but very strong. I welded tabs in the cage to bolt it. counter sunk the screws used stainless , then powder coated them black. everything is foam sealed. there is no air gap no where.. I made the roof cover hafe the bar , not all the way to the edge, so if you roll , you wont hurt the roof. the top is so strong, it will strengthen the cage. as you may know i had the cage dipped to get the wrinckel mess off. after all fab work was done.
and sanded. i repowder coated the cage and top satin black. now all the cage matches the lower part of the cage. I did add some bars. even a rear view merror. but the top ended up weighing as much as the poly top. and the bars i added weighed 34 pounds. i could not have it . so i cut them out and refinished
everything before powder coat. another waist of time. But its done.
i am a stupid profectionest , and i spend way to much time on this crap.
but i just want things the way i want them, and i do what it takes to make it.
this is what i do, and i know only one way to do it. thats 100%.
I even put the safty plates back on the down bars. was going to remove and weld the holes. but wanted to keep the factory look....
Now i know its going to get all scratched up in the woods...
but thats ok, its the way i want it. and this way a speaker bar will still fit.

GREAT JOB! looks nice , you are just about as anal as me, being a toolmaker fit and finish is damn important to me. Janet says when i do something around the house this aint work it looks nice enough, You did a fine job ,so we will bust the roofs cherry in ky. see ya there

i know all about makin it juuuuust right bein a fabracator gotta do it or it wont work.... thats crazy to roll that on a break but ive had to do it before too its sucks the roller makes it so much easier but gotta do wat u gotta do

I hear yamaha is considering going back to the satin cage.
there haveing to redo so many of the wrinkle finish cages
while building them new.

Great attention to detail, almost too nice for the woods. Maybe the factory will pick up some of your ideas.
