| I am fairly close to buying the silver 2009 rhino. Has anyone here ridden or driven one with the upgraded shocks? If so, can you tell a big enough difference to spend the extra money? | |

| If I were getting a new Rhino today, I would get one with the sport shocks. Shocks are one place you will want to up-grade if you go with a standard version. | |

| how much extra do they charge for the sport shock upgrade? would it be better to get the standard shocks and then upgrade to the progressive 425 shocks. also all the guys out west that play in the big sandbox are always selling the stock shocks as they all have the longtravel setups. | |

The sport model is about $1,700 more. It would be the one to buy if you are not going to upgrade. Most of us here upgrade, upgrade, upgrade and then do some more upgrade.

Chris, I disagree with ya here sort of. Like I said buy the sport model if you are not going to upgrade. It will be a lot cheaper then buying shocks, wheels, tires, custom plastic and so on.

| But no one ever leaves them alone. thay always buy wheels. so why pay for sport wheels and take them off. so only real upgrade he will get is sport shocks. and you can get progressives from clay cheeper than the price difference.
everyone says there going to leave them stock. and that lasts only about a day.... :D

Like I said before, get the sport model today. I sell the progressives and they are a great aftermarket add-on but the Yamaha sport shocks are just a tick better. You have a little more adjustment there and they are great quality. I would not buy a used set of sport shocks because they only have about 1500 miles of life in them before a rebuild is nessesary. Allot of people ride the sports for about 1000 miles and the pawn them off on someone else to re-build. If you get a plain jane add the progressives asap if not enjoy the sports for awhile. I would get a sport and add a good set of tires for around $400 and a windshield and be done for a while untile I wanted to see at nite! Thanks for the prop's Chris but I would rather see someone get what they wanted than make a coin or 2!

| I already have a rhino and will be taking off a j-strong folding windshield, 4000 pound winch, floor protectors and a box that mounts in the dump bed. If I buy the sport I would sell my roof, if not I would put it on the new one. I guess my next question is, how much does it cost to rebuild the sport shocks? I have left my current rhino stock with the above exceptions and probably wouldn't do anything else to the new one other than a possible stereo. I have 1200 miles and 140 hours on my current 07 660. I have worked out a trade with a local dealer where I get a blue 09 700 for a difference of $3200. I am debating on doing it and if I do I can buy the sport for an additional 1400. I basically am considering it to get rid of the horrible braking noise the current one has along with fuel injection and obviously everything being new. | |

| Rhino Guy, my thoughts. How do you what to ride. HP means nothing, on the track or racing with the guys in the woods if you dont have the suspension to handle it. Shocks first, IMO, for performance. Anybody can create a fast straight line winner, its in the rough shit where you loose the other guy if you can drive. $1700.00 worth... no. But what you do get for that $1700.00 is nobody elses wore out shit. I can tell you all day I took care of it....but how do you know. IMO you put the miles on it then you know. Hope that helps! | |

Im glad i was sponsered I have used FOX and Walker Evans and the only "ride" where stock and the FOX shocks ride the same is at 30mph on strait flat road. You either have not put them to the test or they are not setup right... maybe I read into this a little more then I should have. I agree with CLAYBOY, depending on your riding habits get the SPORT model if you can resist the bug for the upgrades. My only input into this is... I have yet to meet an owner who followed through with thier promise when they buy their unit. Everyone I know so far has upgraded and has wished they bought the base model...... who knows maybe you will be the first and start a trend As for overhaul times. I have 2000 hours of hard desert riding on my Walker Evans and they show no signs of having to be rebuilt (knock on wood) Good luck

| Everyone has an opinion, but I have the sport shocks and am very happy to have them. My Daughter in law wont drive their '06 Rhino but loves to drive mine. She says it too hard to drive theirs and it rides to hard. I made a mistake and left it over at their house on Saturday and that night she drove it following my son. She drove it all night from about 8 to 6 in the morning. She burned all my gas and got it stuck in the lake bottom took two Rhinos to winch her out. She loved it and now want him to buy a new one. | |

| Shocks will be one of my next upgrades. Thought I could hang with the stock. but no go. I can not get up any speed in rought without bottoming out the front end. I like the specs on the sport factory. but hear good things about the progressive shocks. | |

| I just added the sport shocks. I have not got to really test them out yet. However, What little I have rode lets me know there is a big difference | |

| I would take a little higher feeback at low speed to get the better ride at higher speed. I hate the feeling of bottoming out shocks. | |
