| Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
The reason Lars and I signed on is because Jon from Bell county suggested you folks would give us the straight scoop on the trail systems there.
Each year we (atvnation.com) hold a "National Ride". Typically it's a new location, although this past year we went back to Idaho for a second time... spectacular! The National Ride is open to any person, group, club, etc. It's always a guessing game trying to figure how many will show but typically it's between 100-200 people.
We are seriously considering Bell county but would appreciate your input.... pros and cons. Jon has offered his property up for camping and storage for those that want to head into town for a room. How did Jon's place work out for you when you were there?
Tell us about the trails? How difficult, Hills, Mountains, Mud? We have people coming in from as far as Washington state for this ride and we want to be sure there are enough trails to keep us busy for a week. Do you think that will be a problem?
I hope some/all of you can join us..... I can tell by the welcome here that we would enjoy each others company!

| ostie, the riding in Bell Co. is outstanding, with everything from rocks to mud to hills at any level you want to try and beautiful scenery every step of the way and Jon and the Holler Crawlers are above all in the area of hospitality and trail knowledge. You may find an area as good, but you will not find any that are better! We had a memory making time there last year on our first annual weekend ride with them, and everyone is very much so looking forward to our ride with them this year! I wouldn't miss it for the world. You can check out a couple vids of us last year with Jon and the gang at our website, http://www.southernsxsriders.netClick the Videos button and look for the vids named, Middlesboro Sept 08 1 and 2. Also check the pics on the Photos page. The straight scoop... We love the people and the trails and you all will too !! | |

| Thanks for the info DirtDawber! The info from you on Jon comes as no surprise, he's been very helpful so far and I know he will be an excellent host.
How many miles did you put on last time you were there? Did you stay at Jon's place?
Very nice photos and videos!
I hope Wisconsin opens it's trails to SxS's soon. We have some areas that the state has opened for testing. I'm not sure what they expect will happen by opening these trails to SXS's that doesn't already happen with ATV's.
Thanks! | |

| great times and even better host!. the holler crawlers and jon went above and beyond to give us any kind of terrain we asked for . from high speed gravel roads to tight technical trails they have it all. we stayed at the hotel in town but left our rig at the farm without a worry or problem. i highly recommend doing bell co. and i cant wait for this years annual ride. the ride and the club are AWESOME !! | |

| We did not camp 'cause we live close and just drove down for the Saturday day ride. Lot's of others did camp and I'm sure they will check in here later to voice their experiences.
I'm not sure how many miles we put on, ourselves, but we road around 8 hours that one day. Also, the vids and pics are mostly of mild stuff, 'cause this was the official group ride and they are normally modest so as everyone has a chance to enjoy themselves without breaking their machine. The more intense riding for this event was done at other times during the days and nights by whomever wanted to do the extreme stuff.
Good luck to you all on getting SxSs approved for your local trails. States are oft times totally in the dark on most everything people enjoy doing.

| Thanks for the quick replies. It's good to hear they have tougher trails for those of us that like a challenge.
Cajuncoot, how's the lodging in the area? I know we will have some that prefer a soft mattress to one filled with air.
I hear it's not far from Jon's... maybe a few miles.

| Hey GunRunner,
Things are going well, although I could be getting out and riding more then I am.
How've you been? So, you going to ride with us next summer and show us how your SxS performs?
I think it will be a real treat for many of us that don't see many SxS's to ride with them at the National Ride. I hope you can make it!

| While the question is directed at Ostie..figured this was my opportunity to jump in here. ATVNation is doing great. Or numbers of active members goes up all the time. Big difference between members and active members as I'm sure the mods on this forum know !
We ( Ostie and myself) are on the edge of making the final decision for our 2010 ride. Pretty sure it will be Bell County. Just waiting on a couple more questions to be answered.
Anybody know what the license and/or registration requirements are for out-of-state ATV'ers in Kentucky? Are there any?...or is our home state ATV registration enough ? ...Any special equipment on the machine required...some states require horns, rear-view mirrors, etc. etc. Are there any age of driver / machine restrictions ???
As I'm new to this forum...and still trying to navigate my way around....any special threads re: riding in Bell County that I should check out ???

I overlooked one of yalls last emails by accident (sorry about that, Ive been getting a SLEW of emails lately and have had a tough time keeping up), but just returned Mikes last email. As far as registration/licenses/things of that nature... KY has a state helmet law on ATVs. I let everyone know this before every ride and let them make their own decision. Age restiction per machine....think 16 and under is supposed to be 90CC, but this law is now being changed and you will have no problem with it. As long as they can handle their machine, you will be fine. No licenses or registration will be necessary brother. Any more questions yall just holler. You should try to come ride with the Southern SXS crew this year if you can to get a better feel for the area. We gonna have a blast, thats fer sure.

| Thanks for the email BCO, I know how you feel when it comes to a slew of emails. We are really pumped about your area, and if we can get down there to check it out we will. We may have to wait until you have temps where us northern folks won't melt! | |
