Gunny, what are you showing me. One part number for the whole trany or a page number to find all the info. Because I am finding the same part numbers for the different machines. I am not trying to argue ether. I am just trying to find the real difference between the machines. That way I can make a decision based on facts.

I will still stand by my statement 100% that our kit w/ our tuned Kings or Elka's will outrun a stock S suspension any day. I may not have as much time to keep up on the engine stuff as you, (because I have no interest in this end of the business) but I have easily had more experience with shocks and suspension tuning than most people have had eating breakfast. You cannot tell me the Podiums are up to snuff...

Anyways... I'll drop it at this. I have seen dozens of stock S arms twisted like pretzels at this point. I have yet to see one of our A-arms come back for a warrantee. This is good for us because we offer a lifetime warranty on all of our arms against bending and breaking, even during a race. This alone has been proven by our sales to be worth the money to many racers around the world. For recreational riders, sure, go for the factory RZR S. All I'm saying is you give me a standard RZR w/ our S kit on it and a cam, programmer and clutch kit and I'll run circles around your stock S. Eat

Great warranty! I never said your product was not worth the money. Just disagreed on the comparison. allright

Ok, if you go to the polaris parts lookup, type in the 09 rgr rzr then pick your part, scroll all the way to the right to "usage" and it will bring up what that part is used in.

Do that with the S and you can see what parts are used in what machines.

example; here is the piston and cyl, of the 09 standard RZR, see there is no S model listed as using the same parts. If you do this same search on the 09 S it will show you its usage and it will not list the standard, because they are different in some way

The only difference in the new RZR and RZRS motors are the pistons and Header pipe to the muffler. Everything else is the same. Same Heads, same crank, same camshaft, same lifters and valves, same throttle body and injectors. Basically all you have to do to get the S motor in a regular RZR is change the pistons, header and mid-pipe, and flash the ECU for the RZRS mapping. About $400 total.

For about $1000 total you can have an S motor in a Ranger XP. I've been doing my homework. Smiles

Go to Babbits and look up the individual part numbers for each piece for 2010 models. The heads, Cam, Pistons, Crank, etc..... you will see they are the same.

the S has 12 more hp than the rzr. on the 2011 model they are putting the 850 in the S and the S motor on the rzr. they have to change the frame some in the S for the 850 like they did on the 4 wheelers that is what i was told from factory man.

This is for 2009 RZR and the S

Piston part numbers are different
Head part numbers are different
cam part numbers are different
valve spring part number are the same but noted as HO
Crank part numbers are the same.

Per Babbits parts fiche

http://www.polarispartshouse.net/pages/newvehicles/viewcategories/44/44/2009/polaris-ranger.aspx

I didnt look for a 2010 fiche. Are they the same in both the standard and the S model for 2010.

yes. They are the same except for the pistons. Clutches are the same too. Thus the new 60 MPH top speed for the 2010 standard RZR.

Ok, first, i was talking mostly about the 09 S and the 09 standard, since only a few of us have the 10 models. The 09s have different cams, S cam is a 2203740 and standard is 2202918 as well as other different parts.
Now if youre only talking 2010 then yes polaris has updated the standard rzr to carry the same cam and some of the other parts the 09 S had so thats a plus for the guys buying the 2010 standard, they still dont get the good exhaust or S ecu program. The clutches are all the same in the rzr and the XP now with the stronger belt and rapid reaction secondary clutch.

All the info you need is right here, http://parts.polarisind.com/Browse/Browse.asp forget babbitts and those others and go right to the source"Polaris" if you want the true info.

Dang Gunny... I'm feeling a little closer to being right! lol!

I think if you guys haven't done this yet, you should start a thread on the differences in the two models engines and copy/paste everything you already have here!

So I guess if you do not own a Rzr S you must not know anything about them? You can not post in this topic? roflmao gunny always thinks he is right and as you can read, most people are tired of his poo . If gunny knew half as much as he thinks he does, he would own a nice sxs shop, LIKE I DO! ownedsm

Now Mr. Ambassador, dont be that way lol! Besides, I thought you were headed up north to pick 2, S models up? DontKnow

You were the one i was trying to help out, the S would have been way cheaper than what you were talking about doing. But if you want a good alternative you could get the stsndard rzr, then add 1.5 spacers and ITP wheels and be 58" wide for about 500.00.
