I have some experience here with my 660. A local guy I ride with from time to time has a 07 660 too. We raced them several times, they were very even all the way through the power band. So I thought I would get an advantage and removed the spark arrestor. He was faster all the way from start to finish. The Rhino felt stronger but I believe it was more "sound placebo" and our several races head to head proved that. I Don't know if the 700 would be the same but I would be willing to bet it is.

I think he is saying it was faster with the spark arrester in.

From my exp. unless you do other mods it is better left stock. I removed the spark arrester from my 450 and added a bigger tip and all I noticed was it was a little louder. I tried a big Gun exhaust which helped a little on top end but cost some low end torque. The Big Gun feel apart after less then 400 miles so I went back to stock.

It was faster in all areas. Now the 700 may be different. Only way to know, imo, is remove it and run some time trials. Removing it should hurt any thing.
