| Does anyone know of any places at all near Richmond, VA (within an hour or two?)? Also, does anyone know of any places you can ride in the sand near the ocean in lower VA or the uppermost part of NC?? | |

| There is Slades Park in Surry, Va. (45-50 minutes). As far as riding in Corva (NC northern beaches) you have to be a property owner or a licensed SXS from another state. The writing on the permit says property owner. They don't know what to do if your SXS has a license and let you go basically!!! | |

| I checked out the website for Slades Park. It is more of a dirtbike racing park. I am wondering if you go west of Richmond could there be some riding?? It starts getting pretty rural about an hour west of there. | |

| Slades does have trails but the SXS's have not caught on as much as other places so there are more atv's. We have ridden at the Outdoorsman Family Fun Park that is near Martinsville, Va. but that is 3 hours from Richmond. If you are that close you may as well go back and ride in WV. We have also rode Taskers Gap, Peters Mill Run and the Cove but that was back in the dirtbike days and I don't think they allow SXS's (haven't checked). There is Busco Beach (Goldsboro, NC), basically a mud pit and that would be 3 hours as well. Busco Beach is fun in the summer time on the big weekends. Everywhere you look there is something worth watching!!!! | |

| Well, I kinda knew that places were going to be limited. If I could find one nice decent spot to ride close I would stick with that. I am not a mudder.......more hills and trails. Some of these other areas you talked about sound promising. I know I can always be in eastern WV in about 4hrs.....to Wagon Wheel in about 5-1/2. I am really just looking to find a spot that I could drive out and ride and come back in the same day. When I was stationed at Bragg I had to drive almost 3hrs to Uwharrie NTL Forest and I would consider it decent riding at best. I think I have been spoiled by riding TN, KY and WV. I guess I may just try get an early start the weekends I want to ride and shoot over and ride with Bush and those guys. | |

| We have ridden Uwharrie also. We would go back if they had a campground nice enough for our RV you could ride to the trails from but since they don't ..... We did stay at the Arrowhead Campground (on Uwharrie property) but you had to trailer to the trailhead. That is all I know close to Richmond. Not sure what is North! | |

| Uwharrie isn't bad.......just not worth a three hour drive, IMO. I would rather go ahead and drive two more hours and be in WV or TN. | |

| That is why we always end up at Windrock or Wagon Wheel. If we are loaded and rolling, we just roll on!!! | |

| I live in fredericksburg, about an hour from richmond,va. We have a park maybe a half hour from here called Nothern neck atv park . http://northernneckatv.com/I havent been to it yet because of the hours. I think they are only open weekends or something like that. there is also the Vmp-atv in richmond/petersburg. http://virginiamotocross.com/i rode it a couple years ago and it was boring to say the least. they are man made trails on sandy trails that are very narrow. they cant get their artic cat through most of them. theres also the cove right outside of Winchester , Va. this place isnt terrible, but its ALL rocks and travel is slow. there is no place to open it up. thi splace is mostly for rock crawling jeeps but you can have some fun on the atv trails. some of the trails are narrow before you get to the rocks. http://www.motocove.com/when you get here, let me know and I would be more than happy to join you on a ride or two .I hope this info helps some | |
