Is the fan working? Without airflow from movement and no fan running it will overheat while sitting idling...

how do i do that? i have taken the cap off. as a matter of fact i took it off one time when she was a little warm and almost got a face full of antifreeze. at this point all the antifreeze is probably gone and all i have in her is water.

I thought it would run hot all the time if it had air in the system. That is what sounds odd here. But what the hell, that is probably what I would do first. Burp the system.

I would start by taking a jack and lifting the front end so the radiator cap is higher than the motor. Take your cap of and check the level, if low fill. Then start her up. If you have any air in the system it will work its way to the rad and out.

Also make sure your fan is not just coming on for a few seconds then shutting off again. Could be a fan temp sending unit going out.

i did take the cap off and runit for a minute or two but when it started bubbling out of the top of the radiator i didnt know that it was supposed to do that so i put the cap back on real quick. the fan comes on and stays on for a minute or two sometimes longer.

I would bleed the system for a good bit, then I would start it up and let it idle for a good bit,and see if the light comes on. But I would get a temp gauge to monitor it after you eventually solve the problem.

The tube under the passenger seat I think may be a tube that when antifreeze comes out tells you the water pump seals are bad. I could be wrong but the overflow should go into a overflow tank near the radiator.

Check your owners manual, it's just a simple screw to turn all the way out and you crank it up and let it idle for a couple min.

There is a bleed screw on the thermostat housing you should just crack the the screw and back it out a little to bleed the air. when coolant runs smoothly out and no air you should be ok. Hopefully it just needs to be bled.

" did take the cap off and runit for a minute or two but when it started bubbling out of the top of the radiator i didnt know that it was supposed to do that so i put the cap back on real quick."

that was alot of the trapped air 'bubbling' out.

hopefully i can get mine fixed on this ride coming up, Wink Wink

i plan on bringing some extra coolant

I can not say for sure about this one,but if one has air bubbles that keep poping up when the radiator cap is off,and you know you have bled all the air out, this could be a blown head gasket, that was usually the situation when I was a diesel eng.machanic..

my buddy has a 700 that would spit out all the antifreeze in no time at all through that little tube off the water pump.
it was the mechanical seal behind the impeller. he had it replaced at the dealer and its not had a problem sense then. the dealer said when changing this they also change out the oil seal behind it.
he had it all done part and labor for like $100. they say theres some special tool needed to get the seal out.

parts 14 and 15 are what got replaced

WOW.....People that dont know what they are talking about should not give advise!!!! Yes take the bleeder screw ALL THE WAY OUT AND CRANK IT UP FOR A COUPLE MINS. Wonder how much anti-freeze will be all over your engine and floor/ground.

If antifreeze was leaking on the ground, I would not have done it.

i think mine has gotten all the air out. but it still seems like the fan kicks on real quick when compared to other rhinos. even my 05 did it. I thought it was just a quirk of the rhinos.

so how did it go ?
