What brand of oil do you use?

Hey Fox, using Royal Purple, how often do you change oil?

I use either Yamalube or Mobil 1.

Woody.......I am way anal about oil intervals. With that said, I change it very often. But it is said that one can double the usage time....no problem.

I don't know yet, the dealership is changing all the fluids now. I expect to take their reccommendation though. I use mobil 1 in my smart car, Castrol 20/50 in the truck (non syn). I know that the Teryx shares its engine oil with the transmission so I want to be advised by the dealer as to type & grade of oil to use.

Amsoil is the best oil for a wet clutch/engine combo no matter what your dealer tells you. They will want you to use their brand.

Polaris oil for a Polaris. I've never been a "Manufacturer Recommends" person, but in a Polaris motor, you will be best served running thier oil. IMO of course, but I've done a little reading.....

I use Rotella in my Teryx 1500 miles no problems. I did try Amsoil and didn't notice any difference, other than I didn't have any money left

Wet-clutch aside. Polaris has a Nicasil (Nickel Silicon Carbide ) coated bore, you run the wrong stuff, especially the "AmSnake-Oil" your asking for trouble. Again, IMO.

My King Quad had the same cylinder wall coating. I used Amsoil after a couple hundred miles. When I sold it I did notice that it smoked when you started it. Not sure if that was the reason, but I always ran a KN filter with prefilter on the KQ. The RZR is still doing great at 1100 miles with the Polaris oil. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Shell Rottela in everything, wet clutch or dry works perfect.

I use Yamalube in my rhino and have used it in every Yamaha I have ever owned.... That's one of the things I haven't changed.....
