| The word is way over-used, but that man is awesome. The greatest generation is quickly becoming a memory. My own father was a WII veteran, but sadly has passed on. His rarely told stories of his time in the pacific theatre are very treasured mempries. We must honor and treasure our living heros before they are gone forever. |

| My great uncle held the record for most confirmed head shots in WW2 for a while an amazing marksman. Sadly also he was taken off of life support yesterday and now all we can do is wait. Luckily I got to talk with him several times before his Alzheimers got too bad and hear some of his stories. Unfortunately my grandfather who was a fighter pilot over the south pacific passed before I was really old enough to appreciate what he really did. Unreal what they went through only to accomplish everything in their life they set out to do!!! |
