| Little off topic I guess, but it will tow my SxSs. Anyone out there have a Chevy 2500 HD with a 6.0 gas burner? I'm thinking about trading in my Murano in on one. The wife likes driving the Tundra and I need a truck half the time so we both always seem to be calling dibs on the truck. Figured I'd just trade the suv in for a second truck. Love my tundra but they haven't changed much since 08 and I really don't want two of the same truck. After doing some looking and reading. I'm really thinking about buying a 2011 2500 HD. I was really thinking I was getting more truck then I had now. After really comparing them I'm not so sure. The tundra is rated a little higher on torq, Hp, even towing depending on the rear end gearing. I'm just wondering how the chevy 6.0 does pulling 7-8k loads
And Before everyone jumps in telling me to get one with a duramax diesel cause nothing tows like a diesel. I already know. Problem with that is the price jumps almost 10K. So thats not really an option. The truck is already expensive with the 6.0. Besides I don't pull heavy loads all that often. I do haul my tractor around some and of course our 7x24 cargo trailer with the Two RZRs. I just don't want to spend the extra on a 3/4 truck just to end up driving the tundra when I need to pull something heavy.

| The 6.0L will do what you want. I was fortunate to find a good deal on a used Duramax. The big gasser is stout and will not give you any trouble towing your trailer. | |

| Feeling a little better about it thanks guys. Stealth do you remember what the gear ratio is in your rear end? 3.73 or 410 The one I'm looking at has 3.73 gears
Yeah Airborne I considered a used duramax. Issue I've had is the used diesels cost more then a new 6.0 like I'm looking at. They also have 30k+ miles already. Which is fine if the price wasn't so dern high. Some of the reason is Chevy is doing 3500 bucks off on all the 2011HDs. So between that plus getting the dealer down some its cheaper to buy new. heck they have came down 6k+ off MSRP on the 6.0 I like. I also just kind of like the idea of having that bumper to bumper for 36k miles then the 100k motor and powertrain with a new one.

| My Tundra gets about 14-15 unloaded and as low as 8 pulling. My father in law drives a 1 ton 2010 duramax for work and gets anywhere from 9-14 loaded. So I've pretty much just figured big heavy truck with some Azz= crappy gas milage. | |

| I have a 2002 with 78,000 on it. It has the 410's. You can tell I like it, cause I usally get a different one every year or two. I have had this one since 2005. I pull the same trailor as Stealth. It is about 10K loaded with RZRS in it. About 8mpg with AC on. The newer ones are little better on MPG and power. | |

| Nice you probably won't even notice that trailer at all now. Is that truck yours or the wife's?

You will like it... if my 06 were to break in half, I'd have to get another one.

| Good choice with the new LML motor. The best thing you can do to one is a DPF, and Catalyic converter delete. Let me know if ya need any parts for it.....
Sorry to say this, but anyone who thinks the 6.0, or even the 8.1L will run with a stock Dmax, needs to drive one and can tell the difference. One ride is all it will take!!! This time last year we had a 6.0 gas, now we have my 07 LBZ Duramax, and Papaw's 04 LB7. I am even considering buying another one for a work truck!!

| The wife gets the 08 tundra the diesel is mine
Its really way more truck then I need. 400hp 760 torq. Plus has the exhaust brake. 17k+ towing. I agree my little 7-8k trailer should be nothing Problem I had was the 6.0 gas truck wasn't much better then the tundra. Which does great pulling but I didn't want to buy a "new" truck with less ass. I also didn't want to get 10 mpg towing anymore. It's like a race to the next stop.

| Been driving the truck around.. LOVE IT. Its simply awesome.. Got a little over 18mpg driving around town. Haven't tried out the 4wd or the exhaust brake yet. Can't wait to hook up the trailer and head to brimestone with it this weekend! I will say one thing this thing seems huge. I have to jump to sit on the tailgate.. Getting in and out of a tool box in the bed is going to be fun. | |

| Anyone running an on board air compressor on their trucks? I got asked a couple times why I didn't add one to the trailer and the main reason was I wanted to install one on my truck at some point. Since I got this new BIG truck I wanted a big horn sooo. I got an on board aircompressor and 5 gallon air tank from hornblasters.com.. I got the tank mounted up saturday. Took some effort but its under the bed now. My horn should be in tonight so I'm going to try and get the horn and compressor mounted after work. I'll have a air hose connection on either side of the truck. Should be able to run an impact or air up tires. Compressor doesn't put out all that much CFM but I figure with the larger tank it should handle smaller jobs. The compressor I got is rated for 100% duty at 100Psi. The tank setup I got will run at 200 PSI. Here is what the setup looked like in the box. | |

| Dagnabbet... I wish you hadn't posted this thread... it was a bad influence on me. I went out and traded my perfectly good 06 for this... then added the trailer onto the deal. | |

| lol nice truck! Oh man you even got my color.. Steps are on my list of wants. This truck seems to sit up pretty tall. But after the tool box, seat covers, bedliner, ect ect steps will have to wait till later.
FYI a 5 gallon air tank will just fit under the bed on the passengers side lol. Took me all day to figure it out...

| Got my on board air and Air horns Installed! The train horns are extremely loud.. I put a 3 way switch in the cab that lets me select between the stock horn, Big rig horn or the train horn. When the truck is off the Stock horn is the default.. So if I hit the lock button twice I don't blow my ear drums lol.. Truck horn Shocker XL train horns Pics of the compressor, tank and the air hose connections for running tools. Sorry Pictures kinda of suck. | |
