| I have a Bighorn 9x12 front tire, has some rock sidewall damage not real bad but concerned. Have talked to Mason he had one done, have called sevreral places no one does here no more , Any ideas????? I may have to buy a used tire if any one has one?????? , or last resort buy new one, and use this one as a spare. | |

| I've been working toward doing them cold using an internal patch and Rema Tip-Top Rubber Putty, a two part compound.
My last effort has been to most successful to date. I have a split bighorn that I could poke three fingers through the gash. I ground out the torn material, used a rather large two ply patch on the inside, then from the outside I filled the gash and added about 1/4" thick covering or the putty from tread to tread and at least 3/4" past either end of the gash. I also treated the inner liner with a butyl rubber sealer.
I put about 40 miles on this repair this last weekend on the roughest trails Pickett has to offer. There is no sign of failure so far. Only time and miles will tell the final story... but this is now looking very promising.

I think tubes are a bad idea. They are hard to fix out on the trails.

| I get so many flats in the sidewalls. If I didn't use tubes I would be buying new tires every week. I will tell you the ITP Bajacross tires are a lot stronger than the Bighorns. Also I ALWAYS CARRY A SPARE | |

| 200 miles and no flats with the Bajacross tires so far. That is great for me, the BH I would average 1 flat every 50 miles or so. | |

| Damn roadie, you are hard on your stuff. What kind of pressures do you run in your tires anyway? I'd almost run the bulldog rockers, they say they are tough to rip out. | |
