Top Trails

Does it cost anything to ride Top Trails close to Talladega? My father in law and I are planning on riding there this Saturday Oct 29th and I was just looking for a little more info besides what I read on cheaha website. What kind of riding is it and is it a place to have a full day or just a couple hours?

No cost, just drive in right now, they are working on improving the area but for know it is free. mix of trails. This is a old Army base, the main trails are the old roads so it is a grid. there are trails in between the old roads. If it looks deep, it IS! we ride with guys that have 30" silver backs and I've seen them get stuck. 99% of the mud holes have a trail around them. The Cheaha web site has a basic map of the area which should be handy, a GPS will make it real easy to get around.

X2 on the mudholes....I've seen 4wheelers up to the handlebars in there.Its a nice half day ride we usually get about 30 miles a trip riding it twice. Beautiful sceanery.

Awesome... Thanks guys. I'm not much of a mudder anymore but never know we may have some in our group. I'm more of a hill climber and technical rider. Is there anything like that there?

If anybody else is interested in joining your more than welcome to show us around.

There is a good trail that borders the perimeter of the park it has some moderate hillclimbs and just good trail riding. It has one extreme hillclimb but the rocks are sharp , I almost always cut a tire down on it so I started going around it.Maybe we will see you guys out there one weekend.

I might could have swung riding with you guys if it was going to be Sunday, but even at that I wouldn't know for sure if I could make it on Sunday either. Who am I kidding I just wanted to raise my post count! lol!

Visited Top Trails today and.... Wow!!! Some of the best trail riding since West Virginia and definately top notch around here. I was super impressed with the terrain and for a mud rider... Paradise... I will for sure be back hopefully with someone more familiar so I dont have to navigate. We rode the trail with the creek and the upper loop to the west. Could not find that trail that heads north and looks as if it dead ends or the loop on the far west side outside the fence. I was a little disappointed with that but definately satisfied. I wanted to run some more technical trails so maybe somebody can lead me to them next time

Toptrails is a cool place to ride we had a good time.

Rode out there Sunday, their clear cutting in a few areas. 99% of the trails are still open. Cool temps and fall colors made for a great day.
