New Kenda Bounty Hunter HT SxS Tire Review

For anybody looking for tires for their SxS, here's a review I did on Kenda's new Bounty Hunter HT.

I prefer a non-directional tread pattern. The Bounty Hunter HTR was designed specifically for the SxS market. The tread pattern and shoulder lug design are optimized for the ride geometry of a SxS.

I just purchased and mounted a set of these 27" Bounty Hunters.

The tread looks non-directional, but there is a rotation direction embossed on the sidewall. Weird...

The tire is noticably small, and measures only 25 3/4", inflated, both front and rear, but is branded as 27". I am very disappointed with this revelation. I took off a set of 26" Bighorns, which has ~1600 miles and still measures 26 7/8". I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER SET. I HATE LIARS...

I would hate to see their 25" tires... although they would probably be fine on a sport quad.

More later... after I have ridden them several miles and given them some ol'Dan abuse.

Most Ute tires run short....except for Bighorns, which run taller than advertised!! This makes the difference seem extreme....however I wouldnt think a "27" tire would measure over 26"

This has caused me to take them off of my list...I want a 27" tire not 25". Guess the search continues...

Damn that sucks. I really liked the look of this tire. 27's should at least measure 27".

I agree with you my friend, Thats one of the first things I do after mounting a set of tires is measure them to see how they stack up.. I prefer a 26-27" tall tire and have ran several branded 26" tires but only two have stacked up and it was the GBC Grim Reapers 26/14 measured 26 1/4 and the QuadBoss MudBoss's 26/12 measured 26"..

My reapers were larger than advertised also.

I have called the vendor this morning and voiced my complaint... they understood and said would get back with me.

I checked the Kenda website, and this tire measurement makes it appear the these tires were made in the 26" mold...

This is pic of 26" Bighorn with ~1600 miles and the brand new just mounted 27" Bounty Hunter...

This Kenda doesn't have the shoulder lugs necessary to climb a wall from the side... I bought them to try because of the rave reviews... I'll not be guilty of that again.

good write up on a crappy tire. zero side lugs on this tire, as long as you ride hard packed surface they should be fine.
