I bought a pyle mp3 amp and cant even hook up the hot and ground without blowing a fuse. Any ideas or is it the amp itself.

Sounds like a direct short in the amp

What PWM said. Its a long shot but have you tried a larger amp fuse?

Just a FYI. If you decide to use that system, I would advise not using the volume control. It only puts out what the factory says it should. Which is very low volume. The volume on your MP3 will be much louder and you can adjust sound settings.
