Shifting issues? Empty
PostSubject: Shifting issues?   Shifting issues? EmptyWed Feb 01, 2012 11:02 pm

I have a buddy who has an 08 RZR that is experiencing some shifting issues. He reports that the gears will grind sometimes when shifting through the gears and it will move in reverse without giving it gas. He did install a new belt the other day. Would this cause these issues? Thanks for any help!

Use ONLY Polaris belts on a RZR for best results.

The one way or two way will cause this. Bearing needs replaced, its not spinning freely. As for grinding that too can be related to the two way......However, have him check the shift cable for "play" to see if its starting to break. The cable is a stainless rod inside a "spun" cable that eventually will stretch and break. I would say any more than 1/4" of play and its about to break. Shitty set up, on the cable, IMO. Both are easy to replace and for around $130.00.
