New to SXS traveling thing. I live in N.C. foothills with second home w/acreage in Coastal southern outer banks. Bought Can AM 1000XT. Originally planned to park it at coast where i can use on wooded property (300 acres) and take out to Core Banks- 50 miles of uninhabited beach owned by park service. They allow ATV/UTV's but with rules like 20mph speed limits....thus no ATV traffic, which is fine for me....no speed traps either, you can ride all day and not see another person.

However, the more videos i watch, the more enthused i have become in broadening my travel and usage plans.

Can am XT is due in end of this month. I added to stock, being a novice, half windshield, sport visor (but not other part to make full roof),rocker sliders, A-Arm skid plate, rear view mirror (old injury prevents head turns).

Oh yeah, i am 56, a stroke victim, neck vetibrate fused (whiplash would be fatal) and my family thinks i am nuts for this new toy. Do i take her to the mountains?

welcome to the site. You sound more bashed up than me. You can tell by the name GIMPY. It gets really rough on the trails we ride, but the views, friendships we've built, have been worth it.

It's as safe as you want to be....you can take the easy trails and the fun factor of just being in the mountains is worth a lot. Go for it. welcome

if you had to pick one the commander is a good one for your neck/back. The seats are very supportive, I say go for it but add some 5 point harnesses to keep you snug in place! Welcome!

welcome welcome2 I too am a stroke victim and will testify that if you are looking for a way back into the woods/mountains again like I was this is the group you want to be with. Ride at your own pace only you know what you can stand comfortably. I have thoroughly enjoyed every outing I have been on. The friendships I have formed are priceless to me,the adventures make me feel almost normal again. Can't wait to meet you on the trail. We can compare notes! rebel
