| I haven't been in years, its logged out very rough and not much fun anymore. But it is a legal place to ride. If you already are in WV, don't waste your time here. | |

Well thanks for the heads up Neuro. I was just looking for possible places centrally located for the group to meet for a ride. Got any ideas? I was really looking for something in western NC, close to or into the Blue Ridge Mtns. I cant believe there isn't anyplace to ride over there, it's a huge beautiful area, and it would be an awesome place to ride.

| great idea Marty but there really isn't anywhere here in NC that would be as good as WV BUT some if the socialization is more of the main priority than riding you have a few choices. Here is a list and the types of riding at each for NC.
Brown Mtn near exit 100 on I40 in Morganton. Its apx 30 miles of trails, very rocky and not for the beginner. They do have free primitive camping or a campground a few miles away but either way you can't ride your Rhino to the trail head, you must trailer it. Pit toilets, no showers.
Uwharrie, between Greensboro and Charlotte, very similar conditions as Brown but maybe a bit rockier. They also have a lot of Jeeps/trucks on the trails. Plenty of primitive camping as well as campgrounds, again you have to trailer to the trail head. Showers if you are camping in the campground.
Wayehutta in Sylva NC (middle of the mountains, an hour West of Asheville) Apx 20 miles of trails, beautiful scenery. No camping, no night riding and all trails can be covered in less than a day.
Brushy Mtn, does not allow SxS's
Busco Beach in Goldsboro (Eastern part of the state) is a great place with lots of mud and sandy trails as well as lakes to swim and fish in. LOTS of primitive camp sites as well as some full hookup sites. You camp in the park and no need to trailer. The downside to this place is that the riding is limited to heavy mud or cruising around on sand. Its a fun place but more suited to socializing. They do have showers and toilets along with several port a potties. From time to time they do have live bands playing and last year even a "naughty school girl contest" that got REALLY naughty.
Carolina Adventure world just north of Columbia, SC is a new place but from what I have heard the trails are tight and not well suited to SxS's (don't know from personal experience)
I do most of my riding in southern WV, around Bluefield. We could have a good ride there. Camping is available at the KOA in Ashland with direct access to the HM trail system. The outlaw trails are also right there and no restrictions to Sxs's, or night riding.
