A question for all you snorkel guys about the 660.

On the side closest to the motor of the CVT exhaust manifold is a 1/4 inch vent tube about 12" long that is open on all three ends ( has a 1" side tube coming off it). It serves no purpose and I know you guys probably saw it when you removed the manifold to install your snorkle. My question is: What the hell is it for? Did you guys ever wonder and search around to find out?

Crank Case vent ?????? Just shootin in the dark.

Not sure what is being talked about. Sounds like the carb vent.

OK, here is a pic guys. Does it look familiar? It was zip tied to my emergency brake cable and laying on the inside of the top of the CVT housing. The only thing I see is it looks like the tube that runs from the fuel pump to the carburator. Maybe it's a spare? If anyone has a 700 check in there to see if you have anything like that over the CVT against the motor. The reason I say that is my 660 is one of the last ones off the assembly line for 07. My oil cooler has a Aug. 07 date stamped on it. Maybe it's an 08 part for the 700? I dont know but it just bugs the out of me when I find parts disconnected and you dont know why.

Someone please check and tell me how many hoses you have coming off of the bottom of the carburator bowl. Thanks.

I need a pic guys. From the drivers side of the 660, I need a pic of the Carburator with an emphasis on the bottom of the bowl. Next time it's convienant please post one for me. Thanks. I need to see if anything such as a vent line is coming off of where i'm pointing in the picture.

Nevermind guy's. I found it. Amazing how easy it is with an exploded view of the Carb. It was parts 27,28,29, and 32. Hooked onto the vent hole from the bottom of the diaphram. I must have removed it when I rejetted, but I sware I never remember that hose sticking up like that. Oh well. Case solved.

Marty, that is a drain for the carb bowl put one on it & run out the bottom. :) The other hose is a air vent hose for the carb, add longer hose & run it up the roll cage two feet or so. I hope this answers your questions.

Yea, thanks Z. I had a case of a disconnected hose I found in my engine compartment. Finally figured it out.
