Two way radio

I'm about to mount my two way radio. I want to mount it under my roof. Any tips, ideals or pictures.

I know you have to feed the antenna through the eyelet in the holder and then to the radio.

Made a box from fiberglass and wood. Mounted inside of box. It does not stick down as fare as the picture makes it look. Ran wires inside air line tubing up along role cage to help protect them .

If you have the scan capiblities on the radio, you have to ground to mic bracket. Ground and hot may have to go directly to the battery. Some have gotten static when they don't.

Drilled holes in the roof of my cooter brown top and siliconed them so no water could drip onto radio.

Two worm gear clamps ( better known as water pipe clamps ) around the cage then around the radio mouting bracket. Easy peasy Japaneasy. Mounted radio upside down so speaker is on the bottom.

most radios, you can take the top and bottom cover off, and then there will be 2 screws on each side to take out and then you can flip the front display...

what kind of brackets are you guys using to mount your antenna??

I used a nmo antenna and drilled hole through my cooter b roof.. applied metal tape to underside for a decent ground plane.

Picked up the anteena and mouting kit that included a L shaped bracket at local radio shop or Radio Shack. Mouted it on the horizontal bar on back of the cage just under the roof with the very tip of the anteena sticking above the roof. So far so good, for about a year, going under a lot of brush and haven't broke the thing

Hey while on this subject what wattage is everyone running as far as radio transmission power.

The Kenwood I have is a 25 watt.

I got one of RedRzr's kenwood setups and now that I have it don't know how I ever rode without one.

Ours came from Mason. It was a 40 or 45 watt beefed to 50 watts now.

Does anyone have the frequencies we use.I know the the FRS channels but can't find the actual frequencies. I have my eye on a nice refurbished Motorola Radius 50watt from a dealer were im at. He just needs the frequencies to program it for me.

i mounted mine in between the seats

Mounted mine up this weekend. Kenwood TK840 mounted on a Ram roll bar mount with a custom bracket.

i need to get me one. i wonder if mason has anymore?
