| Just called and talked to him. No obligation just to add your name to the list of "potential" interested parties if a club membership or nominal pass fee were to be instituted. | |

| Went up to Pickett today to see Carl and look around a bit. Basically this all comes down to insurance. Cumberland forest does not want to shut the riding down. They are looking for protection from lawsuits, via insurance. Cumberland forest has 3500 acres up there, it is in many different tracks, mostly along t3 and t1 back to Dry hollow. I saw several signs along T1 coming from Dry hollow, looked like they signed what they could get to in a moderately capable 4X4 truck. I did not see any signs on any side trails. Talking with Carl he told me Cumberland forest has gave him 1st shot at the access rights to this 3500 acres. I think the word “Club” is the wrong word to be using for what Carl is trying to do. He is trying to secure Insurance for ATV riding on this land. That is all the landowner is asking for. The areas outlined in yellow is the Cumberland forest tracts… If Carl can’t get insurance for ATV riding then Cumberland Forest is going to lease it to hunters for the cost of hunting insurance. At this time Carl has not found a company that can provide this insurance. He has been in contact with the company that provides Coal Creek insurance, but at this time they have not gave him a price. He is going up to Brimstone and Trailsend this coming week to talk to them about the insurance they have. I don’t think Carl is doing this to get rich, heck he charged me $4 for parking and $1.50 for a Dagwood sandwich today. That’s not prices that are going to make any one rich. After talking with Carl and riding around for a few hours up there today I put my name on the list of supporters, and told Carl I would do anything I could to help him. I have been riding up there since I was a kid, and I have seen what happens to an area once hunters take over. This has my full support and I hope everyone else that enjoys riding at Pickett will get on board and keep one more area from closing down. | |

| The same thing is happening at "The Cove" in and around Tracy City TN. I have ridden this area twice in five years but still sent money to help with the cause. I would suggest that he may want to get in touch with Shawn Parsons (931)235-9917 of the "Damn Locals" to understand how they went about convincing the land owner to continue to allow off road riding there. https://damnlocals4x4.com/https://www.facebook.com/damn.locals?ref=ts | |

| Not good. Someone/Organization will lease this property and it will no longer be able to be "open" to the public. I see no way around this from happening. This new corporate owner is looking to find a way to have their taxes paid for them.
Fox has an interesting idea. Not sure if it's viable or not? But, the SxSSR's having their own riding property is an interesting thought.
Group insurance for a club should be affordable, but trying to have it open to the public would make the insurance unaffordable in most all cases. Gates and signs would have to be installed.

This might be the only option. We have a club large enough to come up with the money to lease this place. How many of you all could, or would help?

Maybe, I am going to look into this. We might be the first Club to have our own lease.

| Okay, I have talk with Carl. He actually has a lease on the land as long as he can get insurance. However, I talked to Jon (BCO) and he said there is a KY law the protects land owners from lawsuits as long as it is not a paid park. | |

| The landowner problem is in Wayne Co, KY... the riding area crosses over into the Pickett State Forrest (open riding) in TN.
No ATV riding on Pickett State Park...
