NEW YAMAHA LINE???????

Talked to our Yamaha dealer today, the area manger was in yesterday and talked about a new line of side by sides for late next summer for Yamaha, they are getting a new line up. No other detailes.

Has any one else heard any thing??????????

Interesting statement Tman. One would assume you to know more than the average Joe, but we have all heard this before. Would you expect more than a few used XP 900s to hit the market in 2014?

I doubt it very seriously. I think most everyone knows my feelings about Polaris. Moreover, Yamaha is probably my first choice in machines but I don't see them ever competing in this market. So I guess I'm sticking with the XP for a few more years.

I'm with Big R on this. I have always been a Honda man when it came to atvs and hated the polaris brand. Now I have a 2011 RZR S and i dont feel like anyone is gonna compete with it any time soon, especially not with a reasonable price tag. If they did come out with somethin I dont think I would even bother to try it just because I feel they shouldnt have waited so long.

Well, there were a few lawsuits that stymied that process. Yamaha did revolutionize the SxS market when the Rhino came out and I would venture to guess that most of us had one (or still have one). Maybe lightning can strike twice. All I know is that if Yamaha came out with anything remotely similar to an XP I would have to take a serious look at it. But I would think it more than likely it would be something more along the lines of the Commander.

I would also note that it is interesting that every Japanese manufacturer has stayed away from the high performance SxS market. Why? Is it just because of the lawsuits?

I hope Yamaha does do something, do they have a decent motor though? I skipped the Rhino and went straight to a RZR from my atvs.

My guess is its also something like the commander.. I don't see them coming out with a pure sport model.. Maybe they will who knows..

I had a Samarai when they first came out in '88..what a POS. They should have renamed it the Suzuki Suicide ....Of course I was only 22 and like every know-it-all kid I did not have sense god gifted a billy goat in those days

This sort of reminds me of the "Boy That Cried Wolf". We've all heard of this so often and for so long that when Yamaha finally does come out with something no one will pay any attention to it unless it is a real world changer!

Suzuki had their own issues with lawsuits and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (Ralph Nader). Also, it was designed as a motor vehicle and not an off-road vehicle. Suzuki makes some really good ATVs, but are totally out of the SxS game.

I too am skeptical of Yamaha introducing a game-changer, but if they do, Polaris better be ready.

I've got a decent connection too. He was right about the Commander, He was right about the RZR, both the 800 and 900, he told me about the up-dated Ranger..he never comes right out and says anything but drops the aformentioned hints...
He is a Suzuki, Kawasaki,Polaris,Can-Am,Yamah dealer. He goes to the shows and meetings. I asked him about Yamahas future in the SXS market last week and all he said is "I need to sell some RZR's" with a grin.......? That's all he would say.

Talked to our dealer again this week about the new Ranger 900 , and the new Yamaha line this time next year, after talking to him convinced to wait and see. He says they are going after Polaris!!!!!!!! I am one of the last few to hold out with Yamaha , so what is waiting one more year,

I'll be honest with you. Yamaha will probably come out with the baddest machine ever. I am sure you are asking "how does Big-R know this". Simple, I just bought a POLARIS........
