Durhamtown UTV Race Series! Check it out!

If anyone is from Georgia, you've probably heard about Durhamtown and been there. Probably also know that there is a lot of information/rumors. I have no knowledge of any of it but I do have some news. Racing news that is!

They are starting a UTV race series!! Check out there website!

We have contacted them through email and here is the reply we got from Mike.

We need some WOMEN out there for the ladies class - the wife wants to do this! LOL

Rodney and you aught to skip the PA race and come out and support Mike on this...Ive been pushing him for over a year to do this and he has put this thing in fast forward....We need a big turn out. Mike told me pending the turnout "the sky's the limit". He would even venture into building a motocross Track for us and running us at night ..!
How cool would that be...!

Cmon guys..this is our stage...Lets show the west coast people we can get it on here too..Support this series...They are having fireworks there to. This pre race is going to be a Prelude to the future of us racing...

We had big plans to go to PA. Not too sure what to do. We'll have to rethink everything.

On a side note, we checked into Durhamtowns message board and we have one small issue. We race as a team.... driver/navigator. We think that should be optional. If anyone wants to ride alone, then let them. But for those that want to have a navigator... let them. We vote optional. We wouldn't have a problem with solo drivers. Just let it be optional.
What do you think about that?

I hope this goes well. We only live about 40 minutes north of Broadriver and just another 25 or so to Durhamtown. Be nice to have it so close. I've been telling everyone I know. Maybe word will get out. They need to email out a flyer or something to each of us so we can post them or something. Heck anything would help.

Any other ideas you got G4x4?

The couple of us are always have the opposite problem. Not enough people to fill all the seats. Just like with Rodney now going to PA. He has no Navigator .So somebodies Rhino Or RZR whinds up sitting because they had to ride in another one to make a two man deal..Or you have to spend the morning of the race running around trying to find somebody to ride with you..Either way it dont matter to me. . Like Mike and I talked about, would you rather have two Rhinos with four people racing or four Rhinos and four people racing..

Hey is your wife going to race in the womans class...? There may be as many as three of our woman racing...This should be interesting...Ha...

Yeah, she said she was. She's done the dragstrip mud pit racing. How is he planning on running the different classes? If its like Broad River, she wont be able to. We only have the one machine. Have to ask about that.

Oh and still.... wouldn't "Optional" navigator still be the way to go? That would settle any disputes. Anyway, who knows? We'll just have to see how it goes.

Optional would be great . But If we have a choice I will be riden by myself.

Still not sure if we are going to be there next weekend or not. Really still considering PA. We've talked about the fact that we missed the first one in SC so points would be an issue. If we did stay back, we would go to Indiana for the experience and hope that next year there would be another series, maybe with more races. We really want to experience it and see if it is something we want to pursue or not. Either way, we will definately be there for the 1st real race on the 26th. Can't wait for that one!

Somebody on here mentioned that it was gonna shut down for taxes.

Not according to The owner , just a Minor setback.
I think in the next couple of monthes, if the dang economy will get better, you'll see UTV Race series popping up every where around here. We are in the Heart of a very Large Motocross region. It would not suprise me at all to see several MX promoters staring UTV classes at their tracks..

The rumor was from what was posted on another forum, but even if its true, mike has deep pockets and im sure he will buy his way out of trouble .

The Southern sxs riders have our 2nd annual group ride at windrock july 26 so might not be a big turnout for that race from the guys here.

a race always get my attention more than a group ride - no offense....

but hell - I cant make either or ride for a while anyway - who am I kidding....

He's not going out of Buisness but Yes It was true...They hit him up good....They came in and Took four wheelers , Rhinos , and large amount of cash.. . He'll recover.

Todd had similar luck as our Rhino did.
Yes That was My son that hit the tree on our Rhino in Mod 700 down class.. He DNFed on the first lap. Rodney finished second in 700 down stock class . I won the 700 up Modifieds. It was fun... Couple of pics I have more ..

Some good shots there.

I wish that there was a better turnout. I want to race the rest of the series but I don't want to drive 5.5 hrs to race a couple people.
