Thief River Falls, Minn. (January 15, 2013) – The Wildcat 1000 X is the all-new High Horsepower King of the Wildcat 2-seat family. The Wildcat X combines 90 plus horsepower with the industry’s leading front and rear suspension, making it the best all-around Pure Sport ROV on the market. The Wildcat X also features a new sway bar that has been designed to work harmoniously with the all-new, 23-position, compression-adjustable FOX Podium shocks and Maxxis Bighorn tires to create an unrivalled pure-sport ROV experience. The Wildcat X has been tested in some of the roughest off-road areas in the world, including Barstow, California, the expansive sand dunes in Glamis and rock climbing in Moab. Whatever trail you choose, the Wildcat X is for you!

Arctic Cat did not make any geometry changes to the suspension or steering on the X model over previous versions. There were also no changes in the brake setup or knuckles. They focused their efforts in the motor department. They did not start from the ground up with a new platform but worked with what they had. The first thing you’ll notice is that they went away from the wet clutch and installed a Team Industries Dry clutch and new crank shaft. This combination takes 6 pounds of rotating mass out of the assembly and makes the car a ton more responsive. In addition there X model also uses a new belt that is completely different in dimensions and compound. Along with the clutch improvements Arctic Cat also spent quite a bit of time in the top end of the motor. The top end saw new pistons, cylinders, cams with larger lift, etc. Now boasting over 90 horsepower this increase was well noticed. It resulted in a 15% increase in horsepower all wile still using the single throttle body seen on all Wildcat models. The downfall if you will call it that is the X model must run on at least 91 octane fuel. | |

| After Yamaha's exciting announcement last week I could not wait any longer--- Jumped from an 08 Rhino to the 1000X. We put around 125 miles on it in the royal blue area over the weekend . No disappointment in the power or suspension departments at all . | |
