| I been looking some think a 4000 or 4500 will draw to much and kill my battery , so i have narrowed it down to 2. eather the 3000 XT warn or the vipermax 3500 , both with senthetic cable. the warn has wirless remote , i ant sure about that. what if it gets wet or batterys die.. and the warn you haft to by a seperate $50 dollar mount. and it over $400.00 the Viper max is 3500 pound no wireless corded 10 foot lead comes with everything you need even the mount. also senthetic line. and its like $ 278.00 a few people over at RF.net got them and like them. what is you alls view on this... | |

| I got the Venom 3000X Waterproof Hardcore series from Ebay for $130. Came with winch mount plate, and a Handheld remote w/10 foot cord as well as a rocker switch. I've only used it once, but have been impressed with the overall quality of the winch. I also carry a snatch block just incase of a very difficult pull. The synthetic line is real nice, but do to the size of the cable i feel it's not necessary. You have to take some precautions when useing it so no abrasion takes place or not to shock load it. I had it on my Jeep and liked it, but wrestleing around 3/8" cable is a little more of a problem than 15/64 cable. Just my opinion but I would stay away from the synthetic line. | |

| I have only used ramsey and warn winches and never had a problem with them but my next winch will be one of the cheaper brands. I have heard nothing but good things about them. Your alternator will not even come close to keeping up with even the smallest winch, they will all kill your battery with enough use. I would go big 3500-4000 and I would go with a viper, venom, or gorilla. | |

| i just installed the Warn 3.0 XT winch on my mine....installation was a breeze and the Warn instructions are very clear. I had a milemarker 3500 on my old Honda Rubicon and although the winch was great, the installation adn hardware just weren't the same. I actually got to use the winch this past weekend and boy did that wireless remote come in handy.....it is awesome...winch pulled great..... as far as the synthetic rope....i've only had it for 2 weeks now, but i will never go back to cable....everytime i had to wind my old cable back up on the Rubi the damn thing would always get bound up and shit....just gets old after a while.......Warn is expensive, but worth it in my opinion.....hope to have some pics up soon....but they were on a disposable camera..so not sure when it will be empty yet....lol | |

| There was a good article in one ATV action awhile back about the new Warn winches. They are totally revamped and supposed to be indestructible. When I go to buy, I am going with the Warn 3.0XT. Just my two cents. | |

| I have a Warn XT 3.0 ... I burned that winch up just after two months. After about 18 beers . I got lost in the woods and at one point need the winch. I winch the rhino up a mountain and wrap the synthetic rope around the tire. It took about 15 minute before I realize the winch was not working . In a nut shell Warn is one tough winch. They fixed it with no questions ask. The remote is the only way to go. I have use that winch more then I have wanted to and the remote is a must. | |

| Guys I have real-world experience with the Gorrilla 3k, so-called 'water-Proof". We ride in water most of the time and I'm talking three or four times a week during the winter and summer. As you know, the horrible-low mounting point on a Rhino causes you to dunk the winch in not very deep water. If you don't get in water too much it's a good value for the money, but if you go-deep often, it's a piece of crap, period. It is not water-proof period. I bought one for my neighbor off E-Bay. Altough the seller will replace it "no questions asked" what good is that when your stuck and get "click" or nothing at all. I've taken apart the last two we've had replaced, they don't want the old ones back, so that tells you what they have in them, and they were full of water.
If you ride in mostly dry conditions, or do farm-stuff, the Gorrilla or the Viper,,same winch, will do the job. But if your life or machine depends on it, get a Warn or Ramsey. period. |

| Well , after extensive reading over at highlifter, i have found i was wrong. and glad of it. gorilla and vipermax are not the same winch , there not even made in the same factory. you know the highlifter guys do deep mud. so thay should know. the vipermax is getting raved reviews over there. and i am told there support staff has no equal. I am sorry to say warn is not getting the high praises over there as i thought. many problems . and Viper now has a wireless remote..... :D i may wait til AUG. i here there going to have a Viper elite comeing out. that will come with the wireless remote. i read about 50 testimonals over there about the 4500 on a rhino. and everyone that had it has had no problems and said it was outstanding. even in deep water so thats where we are at the moment. still reading. Chris.... | |

| i will get you some pics...as the wireless remote goes..even if it would go dead, you still have your rocker switch.....but i don't really seee the wireless ever going dead...it's turns itself off after it's not in use from the transmitter. It's a pretty slick set up Warn doesn't get good reviews because everyone knows they are king of Winches and every now and than they may have a few bad winches...do you have any idea of how many they sell?? Just remember...if you are out in the woods or where ever....and need a winch....you want it to work... | |

| Do you think the wireless remote is water proof. i mean if you dropped it in the water , you think its sealed. i know that is weird , but it could happen... | |

| The Ramsey I had on my rhino was wireless and I really liked it. I put the remote inside a ziplock bag and put it in the glove box, I always used it inside the bag. I don't think a little water would hurt it, had it for 3 years and never a problem, even with the battery. You will notice when the battery needs replacing when the range starts to decrease over time, when I sold the rhino it would only reach about 25'. If the remote does happen to fail you still have a toggle switch on the dash. The Ramsey I had was only 2500# and is $250 shipped on ebay. It worked fine for me because I stay out of any really deep mud. I would recommend bigger if you play in the deep or get a snatch block. | |
