LAWRENCE COUNTY, TN (WAFF) -
Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies arrested two attempted robbery suspects over the weekend.
Deputies responded to a home on Highway 43 North when a woman called to say she was holding two men at gunpoint. She said two men, 21-year-old Travis Carter and 21-year-old Freddie Currie, parked behind her home and got out of the vehicle.
Fearing what the two men were going to do, she used the firearm to keep them from leaving until law enforcement arrived.
Investigators said they found evidence that the two men were attempting to rob the Dollar General Store just north of the woman's home.
Currie and Carter were charged with attempted aggravated robbery, aggravated criminal trespass, simple possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Investigators said because of the many Dollar General robberies in the Lawrence and Maury Counties, Columbia, Tennessee detectives also assisted with the investigation. They said Currie and Carter could be linked to similar robberies in Columbia.
