| "With that said, Yamaha isn’t looking for any sympathy. Meeting with their team, they couldn’t be any more excited about the brand, their new Viking, and this industry in general. While 2007 seems like eons ago, reality is, its only a few years and so for Yamaha they feel primed and ready for a comeback into the UTV market. The Viking is Yamaha’s FIRST new entry in what we hope will be many more. Its target market is the hard working utility enthusiast who enjoys a good trail ride and hunt all while getting work done with his/her machine. What the Yamaha lacks in power and suspension, they made up for in design, strength and ergonomics. They know this isn’t a XP900 or Maverick killer, nope, their saving that for later!" Im Calling total | |

I don't think Pate was the only one telling you to get the T-4.

Yup!! When it was made public, you had bought the Ranger XP, I knew.... I THEN got serious and began the T4 research.

| Sure the Utility market is bigger than the Sport market, but the Utility market is already very diluted. In terms of # of units sold and at a more premium price, there is probably more $ to be made in the Sport market at this point in the game. And there is nothing wrong with offering a Utility machine, but first offering a ground breaking Sport model would have gone a long way to bringing back their street cred and in turn also helped them with a bigger share of the diluted Utility market. Similar to the way Chevrolet lures them in to look at a Corvette and then sells them a Camaro made from detuned Corvette parts. Not to mention making the aftermarket excited about your product and causing them to offer more parts for your machine. That was one of the major reasons I chose a Polaris over the Artic Cat or a Can am; It definitely was not due to their quality!!! The Ranger has certainly benefited in the aftermarket due to the popularity of the RZR even though Polaris sells a lot more Rangers than RZR's. Yamaha obviously does not have a problem with brand loyalty from reading all of your comments, they just need to give all their old Rhino owners a reason to pay for the upgrade and a machine to turn some heads!! | |
