Reeko's 2012 S LE Build

So I have been lurking here and there on this board for about 8-9 months now and figured I should finally start a build thread since it is coming along nicely.

Basically in April of 2012 I picked up a slightly used 2012 S LE with 200 miles on it. Brought it home and started playing around with it and trying to get used to how it behaves in comparison to my crawler.

First mods were a PoPo wind screen, roof, PA doors, PA front bumper, and PA harnesses.




Picked up some PoPo sliders from a buddy but didn't like them so sold them.


Added a Tusk overhead bag.


Ordered a Factory UTV Ultimate UHMW 3/8" skid plate, A-arms, gas tank, and rocker package and Super ATV cargo box.





Then a UTVGIANT.com matching center seat with Crowe Harness for my daughter.

Then the brown santa came again to my house and dropped off a bunch more goodies. A Viper 4500lbs winch with rope, some PA door bags, grab handles, etc.



Then I fabbed up a low buck stereo set up using a Pyle Marine setup and some roof flashing.



Found a set of KC Slime Lites in my parts bin in the garage and figured I would throw them on to see how they did. Also, decided to notch the PA Bumper to help from cutting my rope in half.



Then I found a spare yellow top in the garage and decided to put it on the RZR to help with the battery drain from the KC Lites and stereo.


Decided to run dual batteries so this is the build stage.


Made a control panel for the lights and Amp as well as volume control.

Then the girls got me S-Bars, a back wind screen and Popo mirror for Fathers Day.



Got tired of all the ice melting in the cooler so I started a heat shield with some scrap I had in the garage.





I then took it out to play at Brimstone.


Dual battery box finished.


And took it out to play again.

Then had to figure out how to get 2 RZRs on my 16' Jeep trailer since my neighbor bought a RZR.


So I broke out the welder and some more scrap metal.








Then I took it out to play.



And got some bent PA doors.



Now two fit just fine!

Then Winter came and I decided it was time for more mods.

So I started to tear it back apart.



Ripped out my old junction boxes and switch panel.


And started to make a new one.




Ended up giving this one to my dad and made a new one.




Now the new one holds 4 switches, volume control, AMP, iPod hook up, CB Base, and fused junction block.


Got tired of not being able to see so I got some HID lights as well as a 12" LED Totron Light.

Looks great!!

Like the roof flashing for the speakers. Looks great.

Then my Dad traded in his 2012 570 and bought a 2013 SLE .




Then since I had been on my lid twice already I decided it was time to start a new cage. Liked the radius roof design so I ordered the UTVGIANT.com knock down kit.

Mocking up the changes I wanted to make to it.

I then got tired of trying to be gentle with my winch rope so found an extra full size hawse fairlead in the parts bin in the garage and decided to add it to the RZR. I still have the small hawse on the frame as well.




Finished product.

Then I started working on the cage some more.

Bending tube for the rear bumper.






Hugging the body nicely.




I didn't like how the knock down kit landed the rear down bars into the plastic bed and I wasn't building the cage just for looks so I scrapped that part of the kit and made my own.

Spraying primer.


And how it sits this morning as of 3.13.13. Trying to get it ready enough to come to the Trails End Ride this weekend. We will see.

Forgot I had this build thread going so I'll update it. Haven't done much to the RZR this summer. However, I will finish up this weekend some upgrades.

New Wheel Bearings
New Front lower bushings
New lower ball joints
Patch sliced sidewall in BH tire.

 

It never ends!  Looks good!  From one of the last S owners to another

Samiam it would be interesting to see how many of us there are. I think there are more than we know.

Sure is. Most of my buddies are running S machines.
