Great picks...
I've thought about it off and on all day, since I heard the news. I'd have to put "Choices" as my #1 since it contains "Cold, Hard Truth" like the title of the album it came from...
IMO, "He Stopped Loving Her Today" is the textbook definition of "tear-jerker"...
I certainly don't see anyone on the country music scene that can fill Possum's shoes...
Garth possibly could, if he wanted to, but he seems content with the millions he's made, and the life it has bought him...
George walked the tough roads, fought his demons, and the pain of his struggles was in his voice...
IMO, he stopped loving Tammy Wynette today...

i meet him once a hell of a nice man and as down to earth as they come sitting in a million dollar prevost in his p.j.s eatin beanie wiennies straight from the can with no socks or shoes on and he invited us right in after a concert several years ago. we will surely miss the possum R.I.P.

When I heard this today, I felt a great sorrow in me. I always wanted to pick some of his tunes. I guess we will feel this way when Merle Haggard passes too. God rest the Possum's soul.

St. Peter while sitting at the pearly gates hears the put of a tractor coming around the corner. He is thinking who in the hell could that be, as it rounds the corner he notices that it is george jones and at that moment he feels a tap on the shoulder. Its from Johnny Cash and Hank Williams is standing behind him, Johnny says dont worry sir hes with us.

So many great memories of listening to his music with my parents. Saw him three times in concert. No doubt a legend.
My question is why the hell did we fly the national flag at half mast for Whitney Houston, but not for George Jones? HMMMMMMMM
