| Just wanted in introduce myself, new guy from Louisiana here. Been riding a Honda Rubicon for 12 years now and have been researching the SxS market. I'm planning on buying in sometime this summer or fall, mainly for the purpose of hunting. I still enjoy my 4 wheeler, but I'm getting up in years and now can appreciate the comfort and practicality of a SxS. Not looking for the fastest machine on the planet, just dependability and function. Not sure which brand I'll run with, but its interesting to read up on testimonials and the different threads on the various makes out there. Looking forward to future possible rides with y'all. Thanks! | |

| Welcome. Went to school in Ruston. Love Louisiana. U will find a lot of good info here. Your biggest challenge is figuring out what u want your sxs to do. I have a prowler which is not the best get on the trail and go fast machine but it does a great job around the house and hunting. You will see the sxs with dump beds referred to as " pig feeders " here. Terms of endearment . LoL | |

| Thanks for the welcome mat guys. I hope to pick your brains and get honest opinions and thoughts on the different models available, unlike what you might hear from the salesmen at the dealerships. - Goose wrote:

I have a good idea what I'm looking for. Just need a 2 passenger machine, but definitely want what y'all call ...a "pig feeder". My main purpose will be for hunting, and or hauling back deer and hogs. So bed capacity is a must. Reliability and function over style and speed. Speed isn't a big factor....I don't know many people that own SxS's, but I do know 3 people that were seriously injured from rolling them.....one had to be air lifted to a hospital for a severe head injury. Anyway, Thanks again and forgive my questions as they're only for my purpose of researching what's best for my needs. | |

| Welcome to the site BigRiver.
At this point in the market, I would be interested in the Polaris Ranger or the Kawasaki Teryx. Both of these machines have plenty of power and built very well.
The Ranger does of a much larger bed.

| Glad to have you on the site! I too purchased my sxs for hunting chores first and trail fun after. Like Big-R posted above, you have a lot of choices that should fit your needs, Polaris Ranger, Kawasaki Teryx (my personal choice), Artic Cat Prowler, etc. You may even want to look at the new John Deere Gators . Good Luck with your choice,Have fun deciding. With the number of good machines available these days it's a great time to be looking! | |
