The 4wd system is pathetic. Buy a good winch...

If you don't mind breaking down, sometimes with in the first hour of a ride. If you don't mind not being able to climb up trails that the others can go up, then you might like it.

Hey I didn't break down every time...... just %90 of the time!! thatsright

They got the ergonomics and the cockpit right....... outside of that its junk.
Still hands down the best motor out there, however the stupid drive by wire system and all the parameters on it that dumb it down ruin it. You can spend lots of money to get rid of all that junk (trust me I did and so did mark aka orangecrush on here) but then something else is just going to break. The 4wd system is not only junk it does more damage than help (both mechanically and possibly physically to you) IE if your going up a hill with a little bit of speed hit a bump and need all 4 wheels only 3 will kick in and kick you far to the left.

Hell mine broke down after only putting 8 hours on it after driving it off the showroom floor on its first trip, which BRP also fought me tooth and nail trying not to have to pay to fix it.

The only time it ever was fun was when I would drag race it, but like I said I had a lot of add ons to it, more money than I wanna admit, but it would beat everything except a new maverick.

I finally took mine to a dealer, got it back almost all stock and sold it.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY ONE. If you want a utility that you can also play with, or a pig feeder as they're called here, get a Ranger 900 or a new teryx. Those new rangers are sweet but so is the T4 plus obviously you have 4 seats which comes in handy. I got a Teryx 4 and its not as fancy as the commander but by god it has not let me down yet which is all I care about anymore.

I see your also from middle TN, bit of advice do not buy from Americas motorsports, they were no help to me and did nothing but make my life more difficult. If you have anymore questions, please don't be afraid to ask unfortunately I know the commander inside and out now. Chug

That's an interesting read MuddyBuddy. I have two buddies that have one. One is a 2010 or 11 I think. He's balls to the walls when he's riding and he gets through or over most stuff just because he has more go juice then the rest of us with that motor. His 4wd system does suck. The other buddy bought the 2012 with the QE (quick engaging) front end and it works pretty well. Really needs a locked option, but it's night day difference then the older model. Neither of them have had any issue thus far. Fingers crossed!

Very true, the QE is better but still not worth it. My buddy has a 12 and hes quickly catching up to me on repairs. Hell last week he went through 2 more axles and a trashed front diff. Yeah there is no finesse, your best bet is using all that power and just hammering through stuff. If you get one just make sure a good warranty comes with it and it has a QE.
