pulled myself out and the cable got wound up outside the spool snad tryin to pull it back out(using rhino+tree) which i have done a time or 2 before but this time is just didnt work out so now i gotta either reconnect the hook, buy a new cable or buy a syn. line Plus i still gotta fix the cable its still all wrapped up like spaghetti

Looks like you may need to take it apart to get the cable out. It ain't hard to bust a winch open and put back together.

I never have had the cable get wound on the outside of the spool but I did get mine hung up a time or two. I soaked the whole spool and cable with WD40, let it set for a few minutes and then the cable pulled right out by hand, that was after I had tried hooking it to a tree and couldn't get it out that way.

I just thought I would try something and it worked!

Now every time I clean the rhino and winch up after a ride I spray the spool and cable liberally with WD40 and I have not had any problems since.

But, like I said I never got it wound on the outside of the spool!

Yes Shawn, you need to change the fairlead to a solid one. A roller will destroy the syn rope. It can get hung in it and will fray it.

rope , wonder why thay still use a roller.... Chug

well i think im gonna stick with this one for now just put hook back on the cable and have to save up for a new winch with a syn. rope set-up gotta save aint rich like yall
