I never got the chance to meet Mason prior to the cancer, but I got to meet him and talk to him briefly during his short remission. People of his caliber are in short supply these days, and he will be sorely missed. But I think part of his legacy can be the impact he has had on our lives, and for us to strive to be more like him. It may seem simplistic, but if we approach obstacles in life like he did on the trails then we have nothing to fear and everything will be a "piece of cake".

Got to be on several rides with Mason. No doubt the one thing that will never be forgotten is the "piece of cake" that would echo on the rides. May the peace of God be with the family. He will be missed.

He was a great man, friend, mentor, trail companion. I'm glad we were able to ride one last time with Mason and spend time with him. I never thought in May that would be the last time Kristy and I would see him on earth. We will meet again.

It is rare to find a person who can be fun to be around and yet be dignified at all times as well. Mason was such a gentleman a rare individual who made everyone feel welcome even if he didn't know you well. Was proud to know him, I miss him .

Mason and I rode together many times, he was always the first guy to jump out and help a fellow rider, helped me thru some things i didn't have the confidence with myself, he would stroll up to me looking at a obstetrical and scoping it out and he'd say " Gunny just hit it like this... Piece of cake" I did what he said and he was right. I rode with him last at the SRZRR's big spring ride at Pickett, we had a good time, we walked on the high rock formations and stood side by side close to the edge took pictures and reminisced about rides long past. Then we said goodbye and he headed home pulling that big trailer all the way home. God was guiding him that weekend and watching cause when he reached his house and was home only a short time is when he had his seizure. Had he had it while we were on the rock ledges or headed home He and others could easily been killed. We talked about that later on the phone and he felt even though he was dealt a bad situation that God was watching over him. I know he is at peace know and heaven has a new angel. God Bless you and your family.
For any of you that would like to share that last ride I did with Mason, here is the video, I dedicate it to his memory.
