| I got to test drive the new XP 1000 yesterday on a track the dealer had build behind their shop. All I can say is WOW!!! I was very impressed with this machine! The power difference vs the XP 900 is very noticeable. The delivery of the added hp is very smooth. Unlike the jerkiness of the XP 900 the XP 1000 is very smooth from the initial take off throughout wide open acceleration. I was shocked at how much better the power steering performed compared to the XP 900 power steering. The power steering on the XP 1000 is more responsive with a sharper turning radius. The suspension is unbelievable through the whoops and jumps. Mind you I had Elka stage 4 shocks on the XP 900 which can't hold a candle to the new XP 1000 suspension! The cockpit has a lot more elbow and leg room and the redesigned seats are very comfortable. This new machine has a quality jeep type feel instead of a cheaper toy type feel like previous rzr models. I can't wait to take ownership of my new titanium/orange XP 1000. | |

| The thing I noticed most was the power steering. It was as nice as my truck. The T-4 power steering is the same way. It is unbelievable. | |

| The dealer is suppose to have the titanium/orange in next week. There are a couple dealers that already have one, but waiting on a better deal and a couple minor issues to be fixed on the next wave. I'm not in a real big hurry. There are aftermarket parts becoming available now, so I'll be able to build it the way I want it. | |

Well the seats out of your last XP900 are still comfy to us. Thanks.

Keep me in your mind. I am still working most nights and weekends on my place from missing 1 1/2 years of the hard work. Getting close to being caught up.

| great review, I did not take an extended drive just romped on it in a field but agree with the power and power steering points. | |

I got to drive my buddies over the weekend and the engine braking was just as good as my 2011 800, which was non-existant. Only things I didn't like about it was the seats sucked really bad, no engine braking, and the factory doors were haard to open and close after a few miles of riding. Besides that it is a great machine!

| Not sure what was wrong with his then. Watch the declines on this video and notice his foot is not on the break. You can also listen to the engine break as it descends. https://youtu.be/xRuNuYO0V4A | |

https://youtu.be/xRuNuYO0V4A From the sounds of the video it sounded like the clutch was disengaged and brakes applied, may be wrong but sounded like my '11 800 when it was rolling when the clutch disengages. The same sound as the one I rode over the weekend. I think for the 2013 xp's and new engine braking was deleted from what i've read.

I just sold my 2013 XP 900 and the engine breaking was awesome on that machine. Jody T has the same machine I had and his has good engine breaking to. Do you think others may have change the clutching that would affect the engine breaking?

I do know his 1000 didn't have engine braking though and according to the Polaris website specs it is "not equipped".
