| for those of you who went from a 800s to a 900 XP is it really worth the 2500 to 3000 dollar difference in price? the only complaint about my s was no engine braking. other than that it seemed to be a fine machine. i was thinking about going to a wildcat until i test rode two of them and they both seemed like it took a country mile to turn it around and when i asked the dealer about it he said to steer with the rear end. i dont think so not in the tight woods we get into. just wondering starting to go crazy with out a machine to ride even if it only is ever now and then. thanks | |

| Yes with out a doubt.. Not sure why you would get another S. The 12 you sold to goose a couple months ago are exactly the same as the 2014 models. If your going to go through the trouble of replacing a machine might as well get something different. | |

| Is definitely worth the difference. As far as the engine braking goes, I thought it was way too aggressive. Would jerk me around at slow speeds, had to keep on the throttle when catching air to prevent nose diving and when riding down a steep slick trail, caused the ass end to slide. I ended up putting an aftermarket helix in the clutch that eliminated most of it. Much nicer now, engine breaks when needed (tap throttle) and can coast down a hill if i want to. | |

| I went from a 50' to a S now a 900. The 900 is the way to go unless you are buying a new machine then I would buy a 1000. There are plenty of nice lightly used 900s on the market at great prices right now. I love the engine braking. On the Wildcat: buy the 2014 X or none at all, it has the upgraded steering and braking (you can buy these parts and add to a 2013X for around $800). | |

| is there really in reason other than power. i can get a new 800s with power steering for 3500 cheaper than a new 900xp. then i have to spend 700 to change the rear radius arms and crap. | |

| Hmmmm. HP vs proven reliability. Tough one. Seems like you have to change/add SO much to ride on the RIGHT coast. Part of the reason I went with the T4. | |

| It's not just the extra HP, the extra suspension travel, the extra stability with added length and width, or the ability to run 30" tires, but rather the whole package that makes the 900 a better starting platform for the type of riding that we do. I think a lot depends on what you want and what your budget allows. The S is a very capable machine but I believe that the 900 is just on a different level. | |

| Yes it is worth it IMO. We mod these things out no matter which machine we buy. For my type of riding I have built one of the best buggies I could have ever dreamed of.
I know you hear many people talk about how the S is better then the XP in some trails. The only way I would agree with them is if the trails were less then 64" wide. Other then that the XP takes the cake. Now remember I have owned both.
However, if you are not going to do anything real extreme then the RZR S is the machine. Now the term extreme is used lightly. Because the RZR S will do some pretty extreme stuff so it is all relative. | |

| My best advice is drive an XP on a trail.. Find a buddy, Catch some of the guys on here going on a ride and ask to ride shotgun. If you ride in one on the same trail as an S or even better drive one, your done. Its really that simple. Its honestly a night and say difference.. What its worth to you though is pretty relative. I mean some people will only buy used stuff cause they won't pay new prices.. Others don't mind an extra 1500 for piece of mind. Drive a 900 and see if the differences are worth the price difference to You.. I don't think I know a single person that has an RZR that has spent some real seat time in a 900 and doesn't like them better. | |

| thanks for the info guys i guess that i need to take a ride in a900 on the trails to really see a difference. when you test ride a 900 at the dealers lot in a grassy area the 900 doesnt seem to be that big of a difference even in take off but i guess on the trail it could be huge difference. | |
