| Looks like a very capable machine. I'd like to have seen an xp900 on the same trails just to see if either made it easier. | |

XP 900 hands down.. Wheel travel and HP will win out every time..... Yep, the naysayers never realize it until they drive it. I actually never had the opportunity to drive a 800S on the trail until a year after I bought my 900XP, I was not impressed. Hey, if it gets you on the trail and you have a good time, that's all that counts.

XP 900 hands down.. Wheel travel and HP will win out every time..... Yea but that's not the case here. The xp has more power but the S is putting it to the ground better. There's several vids out there that show the S outrunning the XP in the first few hundred feet. It's not till about 60-65mph that the XP starts to comeback on the S. I agree on the suspension, but Id still like to see vids of it.

| The guy from 42copperhead that made these videos done a review on the 900s. He bought it for his wife and took it out for a test ride to make these videos. He said he was very impressed and in the rocky sections it out done his 1k. The power drop didn't hurt this machine a bit, suspension is still a arm but an upgrade over the 800s. I got to take one out a the local dealer and it has plenty of power. I think it is gonna be an idea machine for east coast trail riding. It was a hard choice for me between the 900s and xp900 but I went with xp900 for the extra wheelbase as I like to play on the hills. | |

| Hell the S got a head start every time. I remember a lot of Commander videos whipping the shit out of a 800s....... did I go buy one, NO...... Just saying. If you think less HP, less ground clearance and less wheel travel is better then by all means..... buy a 900S.... | |

| A flat drag dragster can outrun my 900XP and a 900S on a dirt track, but I wouldn't want to try and drive one on the trail.

That is funny! You are so right. I have no idea how fast my RZR will go. However, I damn sure know what it will go over!

| In a straight up short drag race they are both probably pretty close. At the same time though there is a lot of factors in that.. Driver being a big one. The XP also had a kid riding and what looks like 15" freaking rims. You really need two stock machines running the same tires...
I have to agree with the others though. Regardless one way or the other.. I dont care which machine can out run the other by 5 feet in a 100 yard drag.. I would not want less suspension on my machine. Travel or width.. I drive a freaking 66" wide 900 4. I can run way faster on the same trails then I ever could in my 50 or my S. All with one hand while smoking a cigar and not getting beat to death. I've Never every been riding behind an S and thought man I wish I had that instead of mine. lol infact I've told my passengers to watch that bobble head in front of us now see how mine handles that section... I know it depends on where you ride. But 64" wide is so common now its not a big deal. I have yet to ride somewhere and wish I wasn't so wide. I would MUCH rather not roll over on a side hill then I would have a little more room splitting trees in the woods.
