Looking for a hitch to fit the factory mounting locations in my F250. I have no clue about 5th hitches.....good ones? ones to avoid? style? Best bang for the buck...?

B&W companion hitch is great... easy to take in and out if needed. That is what we have

Joe, go ahead and get the B&W gooseneck hitch installed. It's a turnover style gooseneck hitch, if you want a fifth wheel then get a B&W companion slider. It is designed to work with the gooseneck in the bed. Check with Big R, he may want to sell you his since he doesn't need the slider. They are one of if not the best on the market.

Well it appears I opened my mouth before engaging my brain. Rolling Eyes The trailer I ordered is a gooseneck and not a fifth wheel. Went to my local Lenard dealer to look at hitches. As it turns out Ford was nice enough to provide a Reese prep kit installed from the factory on the '14 F250 models. So all I needed was a ball and chain mounts. All I have to do is pull out the rubber plugs in the bed, drop the ball in, and screw in the safety chain loops. Makes it quick and easy to install/remove so the bed is still useable. cheers

Well, a true toy hauler was out for a couple of reasons

1) Height of the Jagged X will not fit in any standard door
2) Needed at least a 24' garage for two machines

So I had to do something custom. Ordered a 44' Enclosed GS w/extra 1' added to the height. Rear 24' is garage separated from the front living quarters. It's more or less loaded with everything but the stuff for the living quarters (that stuff gets real expensive real fast). I'll add the bathroom/kitchen/generator/furnace myself this winter. They are suppose to have it done in three weeks.

Here's specs:

Well it is settled, but I have put in about 6 to 8 of the B&W's and that is what I would recommend too. I used the gooseneck adaptor on all of my 5th wheel trailers until the XLR Thunderbolt.
