its first gear will be low as hell, like there atvs that have manuals, I bet. no way they spend that much to not have super low, you need it in sand land and rocks too much to not have it.

I think 1st gear will be fine for us in the rocks and such. They also said it to run 100mph if u can get around the electronic speed limiter of 80, which I'm sure somebody out there will be offering that. Shift light is set at 10k rpm's

Hold your taters guys, Alba dyno tested one and a xp1000 and the Polaris put out 1 more hp to the wheels than the yammy did, so the hype may not be true!

Any of yall seen this. I know its a just a drag race but still pretty neat. Real test for us will be on the trails.
There saying over at the big forum this is just not true race. The Yamaha puts out 83 to the wheels and they know this RZR has a built motor and puts out 105 to the tires. if that is true , this is just not possible

one hill jump and there right back in the sand...... Not for me. seems to need to be 6000 rpms and up to make the power. I didn't buy a SXS to race wide open and change gears , i want to crawl and woods ride. I am sticking with Po Po.....

I like it, but I doubt in the woods it has any advantage over a RZR, and maybe not as good in very tight rough stuff. only when people get them in the woods a lot will get the real facts.

Wide open motorsports in pikeville, ky just sold one that was headed to London. So should have some real trail comparisons soon. Said they had another one coming in on their next truck also.

Thats a 50mph trail if you ask me. The best fun factor for the yxz will be running those faster flowing trails. Crawling it over the big stuff? Thats just going to depend on how well you are with a clutch and how easily the torque clutch limiter on the front diff will let it slip - that will probably be agervating but will keep things from breaking.
I don't have any side x side yet but time to get a new one- the yxz is at top of my list. At least it would be an awesome platform to built from knowing the quality of yamaha.

I like the machine. I do really like the idea of a real transmission and no belt. But at the same time. The more I really think about our trail riding the more I think the manual might not be all that great in real world use. I mean remember how much we all complained about the RZR 800 free wheeling down hills and us having to ride the brakes all the time? lol So I'm guessing with yxz you will be riding the brakes and a clutch pedal. I know I know rekluse clutch kit you won't need to use the clutch. But still I think I've gotten pretty spoiled with engine breaking. Pretty much let go of the pedals and steer. Curious to hear feedback when people start really hitting the trails with them.

Here it is in some decent rocks Chris. non-Recluse clutch. Just the manual.Except for the suspension being a little stiff. Looks fine to me.
Pate watch it rock back and forth on the rocks , That is in and out on the clutch. I know that can not be good for the clutch. and that is small stuff. I think its a cool machine , and it will serve you well. Just not sure its the right set up for the kind of riding a lot of us like to do. But we will see once you get it.....
