| Does anyone know if that clicking that I'm hearing from my cv joint means its bad or it just needs grease I just put a new boot on it and the next time out it started slinging grease out through the big band I don't think it should be leaking any. | |

| Sounds like you caught it quick enough to get away with just adding grease. | |

| Sounds like you didn't get the band on tight enough. Tough to do without the tool to do it. Try taking the band off and using a plastic cable tie. Repack it with grease. | |

| Yea, I've been using hose clamps lately. A whole lot easier than the bands, and you KNOW when you have them tight. On the fronts, though, I didn't have room for a clamp, I think it was the small end of the boot, so I used tie wraps. | |

I was just about to say , when i seen this post. I was going to tell you your CV joint was bad.... I knew it soon as you said it was clicking. When people with from wheel drive cars use to call the shop and say there front end was making noise when thay turn. i would ask if it was clicking , thay usualy said yes. and i would tell them thay needed a new CV joint on the side that was clicking.....
